Since forming their partnership in Rosario, Argentina, José Duque and Bruno Signorelli have spent more than a decade sculpting a sound that sits perfectly between deep progressive pulse and sophisticated melodic architecture.

Now they return to HIGHER STATES with a powerful three-track EP that guides the listener through shifting landscapes of bass, melody and feeling. The duo's chemistry is magnetic and unmistakable. They skilfully play with contrast in their sonic expressions — shadow against light, tension against release — holding that delicate balance between darkness and lift in every track.

‘Tear Drop' opens with restraint before tearing into an addictive, rolling groove. Melodic fragments and intricate effects bloom across the spectrum. The sounds are detailed, cinematic, and executed with a masterful sound design you feel directly upon hearing it.

With ‘Dizzy', Abity go straight for the body. Heavy kicks, driving groove, hypnotic arpeggios looping upward in controlled ascent. The track builds pressure, rising and rising before slipping into a deep, eyes-closed moment on the dance floor.

‘Modulare' closes the journey on a futuristic axis. Sharp rhythms, unexpected turns, an arrangement that keeps you moving even as it shifts direction. It's alive, and full of personality, showcasing Abity's instinct for keeping the listener in motion.

Brilliant Brazilian duo, Bhaskar and ZAC collaborate on ‘Inner Eye’.   Bhaskar has emerged as a key figure in the evolution of electronic music in Brazil. In 2020, having toured the world and released on a some seminal labels, including Spinnin, Sony and Polydor, he launched Follow The Sun, a unique venture recording sunset performances in picturesque locations in Brazil, and now plays a crucial role as one of the main producers and curators of the Universo Paralello Festival and is a partner at the Controversia label.   

Equally, ZAC is at the heart of the Brazilian electronic music scene. Internationally renowned as a DJ and producer, director of the acclaimed label [Fluxo], and a revered professor of music production. Already signed to Beat Boutique, Warung, and more showcases his near two decade dedication to music which finds him at the pinnacle of his career.   

Opening with tribal drums, ‘Inner Eye’ draws together the combined talents of two of Brazils most exciting exports. Dark Reese bass and skippy percussions keep the energy high as this unabashed dancefloor head-wrecker builds up a head of steam. Muted pads and keys join in the break to create a warm wall of noise before the drop reconnects us to the dance floor. Solid club business.

DnBad Trip. FREESTYLE VOL.1 is a concept drum and bass album built around controlled genre collisions. Each track explores drum and bass as a core system forced into contact with another musical language - from jazz and classical motifs to tribal rhythms, ambient noise and broken club aesthetics.

This is not a fusion record in the traditional sense. The secondary genres are not blended smoothly but distorted, absorbed or rejected by the DnB framework, creating tension, instability and altered perception. The album moves like a single night trip: fragmented, intense, sometimes disorienting, but always intentional.

FREESTYLE VOL.1 focuses on experimentation without commercial pressure, preserving raw ideas, unexpected transitions and imperfect beauty. Dark atmospheres, rolling breakbeats, deep bass pressure and cinematic sound design define the journey.

Recommended for listeners interested in experimental drum and bass, jungle mutations, cross-genre electronic music and narrative-driven albums.
