On May 13, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence welcomed representatives from the Indiana Academy of Physician Assistants, all four PA programs in the state, physicians, and AAPA staff to his office for a ceremonial bill signing for House Bill 1099.  Effective July 1, effective July 1, move Indiana from two to four Key Elements with the addition of Schedule II prescriptive authority and the elimination of the requirement that a supervising physician be located in a contiguous county from where the PA is practicing. The new law also makes improvements to chart review requirements and physician-PA ratios.
