My first podcast from our plot at Windmill Hill City Farm in Bristol. An introduction to the story behind this series, in which I will be sharing inspiration for anyone in the business of ideas who loves being surrounded by nature out in the open air. In these short, cold days of January, it's better to go gently into a new year and give plans time to take root, so give up over-ambitious resolutions, come and take a seat on my bench and give new plans the easy nurture they need for this new year.

A new run begins for The Plot and we start series two with a reflection on approaching creative work and life in step with seasons as they come and go. I also share a brief recap of why I started making The Plot, to share my experiences so they may resonate and encourage all you lovely thinkers out there.

This week's episode takes a softer tone, creating space to reflect with an short exercise to find—and act on—simplicity. In this rare blistering heat of our English summer, the necessity of taking a slower pace means approaching tasks much more mindfully. Finding simplicity and focusing on a few tasks alone can really help.
