Moonsisters are back with podcast 005 by Dosaaf, the artist who represents Belarus, the country under the horror dictatortorship and full power repression regime. Dosaaf is a fast rising queer dj and promoter from Minsk who is doing a lot to extend mentality in the rave scene of the country. Affection to noise and experimental genres alongside with the passion for techno parties have once lead Dosaaf to his first performances in the free underground party scene. In order to diversify Belorussian party scene with mental dark techno and to empower queer musicians and artists, he launched a queer techno party series ПЕТУШНЯ in Minsk and started to catch on within the home country and abroad. Dosaaf’s sets cover the listeners with dense smoke of subtle, hypnotic sound being transformed into a powerful hurricane of cutting arpeggiated chords and distorted structures.

MS: What has inspired you for recording your mix for Moonsisters? 
DS: Lately I fell in love with hard-core. Not for the first time, because my rave life had started with it but after a while all this hard high-speed stuff began to annoy me. For now it seems like the political situation and severe circumstances of daily Belarus woke up this sharp, quite agressive feelings in me and it manifested itself through music as well. So in some sense this mix is a response to what is happening in my country right now. As one of the opposition leaders of the Belarusian protests Maria Kalesnikava used to say (and continues to do so from her prison shell): "we should keep hitting and hitting and hitting [this government]". So I hope this mix is hitting somehow :wink:

MS: Are there any female/queer communities you are a part of?
DS: Yeah, I’m a cofounder and resident of the queer parties ПЕТУШНЯ.

MS: How did your professional life change this year? 
DS: It’s unexpected and quite funny, but despite global COVID-19 pandemic and acute political crisis in my country, this year has marked a small but a turning point for me as a DJ. While the whole world has been struggling with closed clubs and cancelled festivals I really got out of the lull of events and played at almost each main spot and party in Minsk. The  year was quite productive for this sphere and it gave me many opportunities to improve my performance skills.  

MS: Did 2020 bring you something new and exciting as well?
DS: For sure! It brought me a lot of pain, anxiety and fear! But in opposition to it - high level of awareness of love to life, happiness in small things and many joyful moments of «the feast in time of plague».
