The track is based on the 1950 short story "There Will Come Soft Rains" by Ray Bradbury. In the story, an automated, futuristic house is described. The house tries its best to cater to the needs of its inhabitants, like a well-oiled clockwork (one could even hear a tick tock in the bassline). But something is amiss. Why is nobody home? Slowly, things start to unravel as the song descends into madness. Then, cleaning product is spilled on the hot stove, and the house, not unlike the sound, is completely destroyed.

This is a rather old midi file I found lying around on my computer. I decided to make something out of it and this is the result. Not sure if I like the result, it's pretty bombastic and too symphonic, even for my taste. But it's the fun that counts.
