Jerry composed a lot of songs, but he never wrote them down.  He was primarily a bassplayer, also a drummer, a self-taught musician who couldn't read music.

Jerry opened the Llahngaelhyn in 1965.  It closed in 1968.  There was a reunion in 2000.  This recording was made in a studio at Shoreline College in Seattle 2005.  It's just Jerry playing several of his originals, excerpts, I used to hear it so often back in those days down at the club, afterhours.  Typically musicians from all over town played, for free, until 6 or 8 in the morning at the Llahngaelhyn.  It was the zenith of my musical experience on earth.

Where can that Poet Be

The Llahngaelhyn was a jazz/folk coffeehouse for 3 years in Seattle, 1965-1968.  The owner, Jerry Heldman, died in 2013.  Jerry recorded much of the music at the time.  This site is that music, music from the reunion in 2000, and music recorded by Llahngaelhyners since then.
