Written, played, recorded and produced in a little under 3 days, alone in my room.

This was a personal experiment/challenge in recording, melodic building and layering, guitar playing, production, lyric-writing, and self-expression; and an homage - to whom, I hope you can tell by listening.

Hopefully, there will be more.

Easy Way Out

Things I wanted to realise with this track:
- Dressing up a very simple song, structure-wise and production-wise, while not losing the original attraction or point of the song.
- Creating something I think I'd like to listen to.
- Challenging myself to sing with the remnants of a headcold and seeing how few takes I could capture a decent vocal within (turned out to be three).
- A relatively dense and heavy mix that is still listenable and still dynamic as a whole track.
- Making something as ridiculous as possible -- hence the Drop F# tuning on a 6 string -- while still making it work within the original framework.
- An improvised, on-the-spot guitar solo to replace the original two-note instrumental; Frank Zappa-inspired "spacey" texture and concept (probably less resonant and 'nasal' than his tone overall though).
- Melody on top of chunky, pounding rhythm.
- Seeing how quickly I could accomplish all the above.
- Having a bit of fun, singing a song written by a woman, from a woman's point of view, but giving it a masculine-sounding backdrop.

If it sounds ridiculous, then, mission: accomplished. Enjoy.

Agent Provocateur (Your Hell)

Solo track I recorded about six months ago. I did intend to add vocals to it, but that has not materialised as yet, and life got in the way. Life getting in the way should provide me with some ideas for lyrics.
I thought I'd share it in its current, instrumental format, regardless, because I listened back to it and liked the groove.
The influences should be wildly apparent.

Into Overdrive [WIP I]

A track I produced and recorded as a demo for my band, Fallen Colossus. It has been an instrumental for a while, and I finally thought I should record some vocals over it. We've only performed it live a couple of times.
Hopefully, we'll get to record a proper version some time in the near future.
