Alpha Tracks debuts on Blue Hour Music.

Native Austrian Felix Benedikt will release the four-track EP Contract Labour​ May 1st on Luke Standing’s Blue Hour Music outlet. Benedikt, who began his musical education under the tutelage of Erdem Tunakan at Cheap Records in Vienna, before moving on to TONGUES in the same city - the store where the Alpha Tracks project first began to take shape courtesy of studio located above the shop, sits neatly within the realm of Blue Hour Music’s aesthetic concerns. Of late, Standing has been developing the label’s roster with a keen ear - refining the sound & building a solid and versatile group of producers & live performers around him. Alpha Tracks, with his largely retro-futuristic, but decidedly fresh approach to high energy proto-Trance makes for a glowing addition to Standing’s stable. The music draws from a well-worn palette but feels wholly zeigtgeisty in the current climate - pushed 909 drums provide the backbone of the work, with rich, emotive melodies working in tandem with the heady 303 leads - the accomplished, effective finish on the recordings bearing the hallmarks of a seasoned ear - all making for a fantastically satisfying dance floor package. Regarding his approach to production, Benedikt is keen to state that much of his work relies on improvisation - on an organic, real-time recording process that draws its energy from the actual physicality and technical limitations associated with working predominantly with analog hardware. No doubt this is where the magic comes from on Contract Labour, a centred and powerful addition to the Blue Hour Music discography.

3KZ is an Italian duo composed by Z.I.P.P.O & KAELAN, two different creative minds that decided to share the intimate creative experience in order to explore the unknown and takes you on a musical journey through unexpected territories.As debut EP for OUT-ER they delivers a retro futuristic techno journey which still preserves their drum tidiness, adding life with locked, melodic dub arpeggios and harmonic pads.

For this set, I tried to explore different kinds of Housemusic, apart from the usual 118-124 Bpm Deep House sounds, of which I am sure we all love. Starting at 132 Bpm and building up towards 142 Bpm, while maintaining good vibes and keeping it nice and soft. Of course I had to throw in some nice Trance as well to keep those energy levels high

A major thank you goes to all the artists involved for their kind gifts, the city of Brussels for their kind support and everyone else who makes this project possible. 

C12 is a multidisciplinary nightclub and platform run by the Deep in House collective, located in the heart of Brussels. It's a safe place where freedom, diversity, creativity and alternative culture are protected from the restrictive and normative outside world. The project was launched in February 2018 and includes concerts, art installations, lives, club nights and exhibitions.

The Corona crisis is keeping our doors closed and dancefloor empty for several weeks now, with no hopes yet on new line-ups and crowds of enthusiastic dancers. But this unprecedented situation isn’t holding us still. Continuing to support our local Brussels and Belgian electronic music scene, C12 is proud to announce its own label with 10 music compilations dubbed Social Distancing. All artists involved are Belgian or strongly connected to the Brussels scene. Confirmed are Le Motel, Stellar OM Source, A.Brehme, Front De Cadeaux, Davy, OCB Casa Voyager, Cabasa, Techno Thriller, Orphan Swords, Different Fountains, Bear Bones Lay Low, Gols, Hadone, ... and our residents Session 4000, Kafim & Chris Ferreira. Compilations will also be curated by female artists promoting platform ‘Psst Mlle’ and queer culture collective ‘Benediction’.  

Each edition consists of a collection of several tracks and will be released every two weeks, leading to a total of approximately fifty tracks. All music will be available to add on your favorite streaming service Soundcloud, Youtube, Spotify (coming soon) and Bandcamp. In addition for each track we offer a limited amount of 500 free downloads through our Bandcamp page, where donations are also enabled for those who wish to support us and the artists involved.
