Each track is based around a field recording and is supposed to represent the conditions at Llyn Y Cwn at that particular time, the roman numerals in the titles refer to the date the field recording was made, it is usually pretty wild and wet but sometimes peaceful and serine.  One track holds particular relevance to me, XXVIII is made around a field recording I made in a natural shelter just underneath Llyn Y Cwn on my 40th birthday as a nasty sleet shower came down from the mountains, the photo used for the artwork was taken at the same time.

Recorded during a scientific research cruise on board the RV Prince Madog near South Stack, North Wales in January 2017. Each track is based around a field recording made on the ship, the constant drone you hear is the engine.

Llyn Y Cwn (Welsh - lake of the dogs) is a small lake at 715m, nestled between Glyder Fach and Y Garn in the Glyder mountain range of Snowdoina, UK.
Llyn Y Cwn is the ambient project of Ben Powell who also records as Mank, the music is designed to be listened to whilst going to sleep.
