We are very excited to announce and welcome a new artist to LMD, UK beat scientist: ETCH! Presenting “Thematic Clusters Of Storytelling”, which after 10 years marks the return of the LMD SkunkWorks series.

Having already released on illustrious labels such as: Ilian Tape, Sneaker Social Club, Keysound & soon on Over Shadow, ETCH's sound is as diverse as it is unique, his ability to create: UK Garage, Breakbeat, House, Techno, Drum & Bass and more with ease, all the while retaining his sound signature is truly remarkable.

“Thematic Clusters Of Storytelling” showcases ETCH’s varied interpretations on the UK Sound. “Shadow Moses” & “Where Dreams End” opens the release, harking memories of the Metalheadz golden era, cutting edge D&B with soul. “Her Spirit Soars High” closes things on the Aside, with Ambient fused Grime. “Basement Kinetics” by ETCH’s own admission is one the most difficult tracks he has created, twisted, out there beat programming for those WTF dance floor moments! “Bliss” dives into a deeper tone with beautiful textures of melody and bass for the Dubstep lovers. Closing out the record “Pixel Showers” is the perfect selection for last track of the night, sub…lime!

After two years of a pandemic, this 11th EP from Vronsky is here to express two things. First and foremost, to commemorate the tragic death of our friend Marc Bartissol aka dull, the third wheel of Listening Blue, exactly two years ago.   And, as many DJs from this past inspiring era are moving onto their 30’s and a new generation is taking over the turntables, we remember the basic loop structure of techno tracks in the early 2010’s that are still thrilling our minds.
Brennan aka Löwen is providing a refreshing minimalistic remix, and our new friend Emre aka voyd from Istanbul is turning some heavy filter knobs for us. I hope you’ll enjoy as much as we do… have fun this Summer, the party can finally start again.

Budget Cuts: Records & Tapes is honored to present five tracks of pure bliss from Bogotá based artist Ronan (@ronan-music). Ronan, which translates to ‘A Little Seal’ in Gaelic, is the moniker of producer and artist Robin Lohrey. Lohrey was raised on San Juan Island in Washington and studied at the New England Conservatory of Music. After graduating, Lohrey moved to Ridgewood, Queens establishing himself as the creative director the Felt Presence studio space and and the technical director of the Groovy Groovy underground party series. After releasing projects on Vanity Press and Jungle Gym under his given name, Lohrey created a new musical vision and path with the founding of the Ronan moniker and the Eternal Ocean imprint with the release of the instant cult classic “Prolongez La Magie”. 

For his second release, Ronan offers an introspective 5 track EP. Recorded largely during a secluded summer spent living in a cabin in the woods on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State this selection of music spans a range of tempos and moods, creating its own unique narrative space somewhere along the hardcore continuum. This creative period marked an important transition in Ronan’s life and he found solace and meaning in the writings of psychologist and meditation teacher Tara Brach, who’s book Radical Acceptance shares the title of this EP. Her words of awakening from what she calls “The Trance of Fear” activated deep self reflection and inspired this work which represents a testament to the brave act of facing one’s self and to the joy found in accepting who we truly are.

Kindimmer is clearly very technical in his approach. His tracks are so intricately woven together. Extending far beyond just electronic components, the music within his 'Planned Obsolescence' EP has a neat way of digging inside you. Drawing out emotions you didn't see lingering. 

Somehow quite minimal in elements, 'Poignant' caresses the brain with bubbling, muted percussion and gleaming, yogic melody. Expertly crafted, this new one from Kindimmer is suggestive of the unique charm we see in the likes of Four Tet. 

A hefty claim, we know, but at a time when finding higher states seems impossible, it's truly refreshing how this track provides a much needed injection of clarity and head space.
