@benkaczor out of Basel, Switzerland is a riveting ambient / techno producer who has his hand in a variety of different projects that have caught my attention over the years. He releases music regularly from a number of these projects as well as other Swiss artists on his own platform KCZ / CZT (benkaczor.bandcamp.com/music). The label showcases a really nice contrast between his ambient releases (CZT) & his techno releases (KCZ) - a lot of which have ended up in a bunch of my mixes & DJ sets over the years. He also has a project called Tarik Hensen (benkaczor.bandcamp.com/album/tarik-hensen-saknar-a-nde-ep) with Swedish producer Martinou which consists of a tough, gritty, moody techno that is a really nice blend of each of their sounds. Ben has such a breadth of music knowledge across the worlds of techno & ambient music - everything he puts out surprises me & I constantly find myself in awe of his releases & mixes. Providing an epic extended remix, carrying the listener through layers of rich sonic textures, Miles Atmospheric. With a string of releases on John Digweed’s Bedrock imprint, and recently announced as the new Free Rotation resident, we’re pleased to welcome Miles to the label.

ReKaB
Growing up listening to electronic music being played by his big brother in their shared bedroom, Yazoo, Jean Michel Jarre, Depeche Mode and Acid House soon found its way through the speakers.
Heavily influenced by Kraftwerk, B12, R&S, As One, those early Warp releases, and a love of Detroit techno, it was invertible the leap into production would be made.
A 2019 debut on Where We Met, and further releases on We’re Going Deep, Móatún 7, Intellitronic Bubble, Fourier Transform, ReKabs music is intelligent and effortlessly deep.


Miles Atmospheric
One of the true unsung heroes of UK techno, Miles Sagnia aka Miles Atmospheric, is as much a mesmerising presence behind the DJ booth as he is in the studio. Through his richly emotive releases, he weaves seamless stories out of the deepest house or the most spacious techno. He is equally at home going deep on his own Atmospheric Existence label or sending out uniquely soulful techno missives for labels such as Applied Rhythmic Technology, Firescope or Detroit's Aesthetic Audio. Last year he released Miles Away on Chicago's Finale Sessions, his second double long-player and the follow-up to his 2014 debut LP – Aeration. This year he debuts another new alias 'Quadra', with close friend Charlie Tear, a LIVE duo / production outfit.
As a DJ for over 20 years, Miles enjoys a dedicated following no matter whether he is delivering sets of muscular late night techno, or feel-good Sunday-afternoon house. Given the choice, he will straddle the divide to create something unpredictable yet hypnotic, laced with as much energy as there is soul. From London to Paris to Shanghai, he cuts a unique presence in the Dj booth.

DJ Dem’s new 12”, called I Videre, translates into I See in English. Continuing the sonic explorations of timbre and rhythm, the three tracks that comprise the new EP are an envisioning mix of the artificial and the natural acoustic environment. Streets, ambulances, laughter, air; hints of Berlin techno intertwined with the cymbals of an acoustic drums set and Berlin itself; synthetic and human voices creating mazy soundscapes. A blend of house tempos, techno’s futuristic take on sound synthesis, ambientesque stillness/movement and musique concrète’s intertemporal idea of montage music. Rather than going for the usual tropes of dance music’s canon, the music on the EP folds and unfolds on an axis of her own, giving DJs a multi-purpose sonic twister.

Influential Istanbul house and techno collective Sublime Porte reunite for the first time in many years with a special dedication to one of their core members Okan Coban who tragically left us in 2003.

One tune, one emotional epitaph for one of Turkey’s most enduring crews, ‘Cascade’ is deep, dubby and laced in Detroitian drama. Nodding to the foundations set by the likes of UR, there’s a twinkle, star-lit sheen to the top layer but a powerful drive to the groove beneath. Ageless and suitable for any chapter of the night, it’s a fitting send off to a dear friend.

It also comes complete with two versions from Berlin-based Kanzleramt bossman Heiko Laux. The first remix is primed for more peaktime activities. Relentless, soaked in big dub washes and funk-minded modulation on the main lead, it’s Heiko doing what Heiko does best. Looking for something a little darker and stripped back to the bare essentials? Look no further than the dub mix.

Sublime by name, sublime in spirit: ‘Cascade’ is a stunning tribute from a crew, label and remixer that care deeply for the craft. Rest in peace Okan...
