Groovy Groovy is one of the few nights where as a DJ, I know I’ll be held and supported by the dancers, organizers and community surrounding it no matter what journey I take them on. Tracing my journey of going to Groovy for many years, to collaborating with them on parties, to now playing the party for the first time this past September, I realized my Groovy arc has been fulfilled. Coming into this set off the back of a reinvigorating and inspiring time at Sustain-Release just the weekend prior, I had a lot of creative energy to exchange at Groovy. “Sexy party,” as Akanbi often says on the mic, is what I wanted to share, and I feel I accomplished that in what became one of my favorite sets I’ve played <3 Give it a listen and hope you enjoy! “Sexxyyyy paaartyyyy!”

If I have to describe this mix in a single sentence it would be: Percussive rhythms bind diverse genres into an unpredictable journey of danceable bangers.

3024: What DJ inspires you at the moment / has inspired you throughout the years and why?
A DJ that inspires me at the moment is Tasha. Something that really admires me is when people are good at being versatile, and she is one of them.

3024: What are you working on / what have you got forthcoming?
I wish I could say that I'm working on music that's releasing on 3024 (hopefully in the future :P) but right now I'm working on coming up with exciting line-up ideas for a new venue that's opening in April in Amsterdam.
