MoDem Festival‬ in Croatia is widely considered one of the best, and most important, festivals on the psytrance calendar. It’s influence on the festival scene cannot be understated. When I started making this music, I promised myself that, before I was 30, I wanted to play on the Hive stage. Well, 5 days before my 30th birthday, I had the honour of doing just that. It did not disappoint, and it was the best dancefloor I have ever had the privilege of experiencing.

I decided early on that this was where I was going to debut my new album (forthcoming soon on Bom Shanka Music) and record the entire set. So, here it is – the full video of my set on Thursday 8th August 13:30-15:00 on the Hive.

Thank you to everyone that danced, everyone that filmed and everyone that gave me emotional support in the stress of finishing the tracks before the gig! In young childhood his adventure in the expression of music began by playing the piano for a decade. The curious explorations in different forms of art led him to his actual point of love, the psychedelic music. The first encounter with the rave-scene took place at a psychedelic party in the vastnesses of Eastern Frisia. Since then, he took an abundant bath in the silty swamps of psychedelic sounds which beaconed him through the deep mud of affections.

His emotional connectedness to the healing frequencies led him to the psychedelic Podium. Next to earthy and rolling Dark Progressive tunes, his heart clings to forestial Dark Psychedelic soundscapes which will fulfill your mind with the sweet temptation of guilty pleasures!

Kalonji at Wonderland Festival 2025

This set contains tracks from SUPERLUMINAL & ARGONIK's recent split EP on Sangoma Records, as well as other collaborations between the two projects and a few of their favorite solo tracks from the last year. SUPERLUMINAL is the joint project of Kabayun and his wife and muse, Yasmin. Their creative symbiosis—her art inspiring his music and vice versa—has now evolved into making music together. The result is Superluminal: a fusion of their love, energy, and passion for psychedelic culture. With pumping basslines and twisted soundscapes, it’s designed to stir the dust and shake your chakras. Their second EP on Sangoma Records dropped January 17th, with more releases on the horizon. ARGONIK is the psychedelic trance project of Armin Nezhad. Born in Iran, he grew up playing piano, guitar, and drums, exploring everything from classical to flamenco to rock before discovering psychedelic trance in the late ’90s. Since his first trip to Goa in 2006, Armin has become a fixture of the scene, DJing at legendary venues like 9Bar, Hilltop, and Shiva Valley, and hosting events within the Persian community.  After years of DJing as DJ Armin and producing darkpsy under Dragonik, he launched Argonik in 2020—a project blending everything he absorbed on the Goa dance floors. Now part of the Sangoma family, Argonik has a solo EP, collaborations with Kabayun and Superluminal, and plenty more music on the way.

The voluminous collaboration of Skender Makota and Mel Hammond.

Well respected in their own right, individually these two madmen have done more than most duos can conceive.
 

Skender Makota a.k.a. “The Balkanimal” has leant his talents to legends like Frankie Knuckles, Roy Davis Jr., Julius The Mad Thinker and The Monkeynuts Project.

This Berklee School grad is the multi-instrumentalist of “Ash & Dash”.

Delivering funky live and synth bass licks with heavy jazz filled keys atop signature drum programming  from Hammond.

 

Mel, the best kept Chicagoland secret, is known for his beat driven productions, which keep the dance floor moving, as well as deep spoken word vocals in all of the Ash & Dash productions, and other well known classics, such as “From Chicago to Paris”. 
The prose he provides is not only thought provoking but entertaining as well.

The group also has a few guest vocalists and players in rotation.

“Ash & Dash” delivers all of these elements in one futuristic sonic mélange.
