If there’s anyone in Hungary in house music who doesn’t really need an introduction it's Szilvio. He has been churning out tunes and mixes from his bedroom for the past five years to international acclaim. He had been gracing the catalogues of international labels for years by the time he released his debut album last year. All that experience shows when he takes over the DJ booth. It’s no mistake that he’s been invited to record mixes for some serious hitters in the industry such as Melbourne Deepcast, Butter Sessions, c-, The Lot Radio or a Public Possession

Domestically he’s carrying the torch for our scene with his label @this-is-our-time and his event series @itsokaytodance. We are filled with pride that he accepted our invitation to become one of our residents at mhmm parties from here on out.

● What type of house music are you most excited by nowadays? 
I’ve started leaning slightly towards progressive house. I’m in love with hypnotic synth melodies that are surrounded by tribal house percussion, and vocal chops. I’m especially drawn to tracks from the late 90s, early 2000s. It’s quite exciting to dig through that period, as it is quite a challenge to find gems from that time. Luckily some new producers have appeared who are keeping the prog sound alive: @djlifee, @Andersonmusik, @adampits .

● What are the most memorable gig settings you’ve been in? 
200-300 capacity open air parties outside of Budapest in nature, with friends and a cold Club Mate have always been near to my heart. Last summer, when we had a couple months to get together between virus waves, there were a couple of great parties with this type of setting: mhmm x Santsat in the Arboretum by Budakeszi, Pavilon in the hills behind Szentendre, and parties at the Nomad Bar in the Danube bend.

● A couple thoughts regarding the mix?
This recording is meant to accompany dance moves during sunrise. It contains tracks from our new This Is Our Time release, some trancy pieces, and some Route 8 nuggets.

Szilvió hálószobájából több mint 5 éve repülnek ki a megjelenések és mixek. Már tavalyi nagylemeze előtt is neves nemzetközi kiadók katalógusát erősítette, és a világ minden táján táncoltatott már. Ez a tömérdek tapasztalat meg is mutatkozik amikor a pultban áll. Nem véletlen az sem, hogy eddigi mixei többek között a Melbourne Deepcast, Butter Session, C-, The Lot Radio vagy a Public Possession-nél landoltak. 

Itthon a kiadójával (This Is Our Time) és az It’s Okay To Dance szervezői zászló alatt tesz hozzá az szcénához. Büszkeséggel tölt el minket, hogy elfogadta a felkérésünket, hogy mostantól ő is rezidense legyen az mhmm buliknak.

● A house zene melyik vonala kelti fel a leginkább az érdeklődésedet mostanában?
Kicsit elkezdtem menni a progresszív house irányába. Nagyon élem a hipnotikus szinti dallamokat amiket megfűszereznek tribal house dobokkal, és szaggatott vokálokkal. Főleg a 90-es évek végi, 2000-es évek eleji trekkek körében mozgok, amik között elég nehéz megtalálni a gyöngyszemeket. Szerencsére idén több új előadó is felbukkant ebben körben (DJ Life, Anderson, Adam Pits) akik zenéjükkel tovább viszik a prog szellemét.

● Az eddigi fellépéseid közül milyen környezet volt a legmaradandóbb?
Mindig is közel álltak a szívemhez a 200-300 fős Budapesten kívüli open air bulik, a természet lágy ölén, barátokkal és hideg club matéval. Tavaly az első covid hullám után, egész szép volt a felhozatal ezen a téren (Budakeszi Arborétum mhmm x Santsat, Pavilon, Nomád Bár) amikben remélem idén is lesz részünk.

● Pár gondolat a mixről? 
Napfelkeltés táncmozdulatokhoz ajánlom ezt a mixet, amiben szerepel új This Is Our Time kiadványunk mellett egy két trance és Route 8 finomság is.

We heard about Robert Yang when he was, just like us, part of this huge communauty of geeks, record diggers, music connoisseurs and gear freaks producers on The Cybernetic Broadcasting System forum (the webradio of I-F) where he was going by the name of Robot Hustle. He is one of the original members of Honey Soundsystem and has released various records on Josh Cheon's "Dark Entries"""  and Honey Soundsystem's flagship label as well as some oothers on "Public Release" or Fort Romeau's "Cin Cin". Over the course of the last few years he has been perfecting a live music performance of the better taste. A multi-instrumentalist, Robert was trained in saxophone starting at age 10, before moving onto a Fender Telecaster after high school. After being exposed to Southern California rave culture in the late 90s, he moved onto DJing and collecting records. By the time he planted his roots in San Francisco in 2005, Robert had built an impressive analog synth-based studio, which also serves as the creative hub for his riveting live performances.

Next to take a virtual trip Down The Stairs (ok, apart from a few early ones, it's been virtual pretty much the whole time, we'll be honest...) is one half of Australian based duo @Interstellarfugitives, by the name of Georgia Bird (@georgia-bird-3).

It blew us away, and we didn't hesitate to give her a shout with a request to join the DTS ranks. Thankfully, the answer was yes and Georgia has delivered a building hour of rhythmic and heady grooves across to the other side of the world.
