Mess, is a forward thinking club night with a focus on women, queer and transgender artist from diverse cultural backgrounds, dedicated to the celebration of diversity
Mala Junta is considered one of Berlin’s fiercest underground queer-techno parties, with a focus on inclusivity, a concept which approaches the faster, groovier edges of old school dance music.

In this mix Hyperaktivist provides this high energy tribal energy, with a one hour trip full of both old and modern cuts, blending the realms of old school and contemporary techno and trance music.

For DETECT 100 we are releasing @dj-tool’s set, recorded live at last month’s FOLD Meets Fast Forward. An event that brought together a label we respect so much with our FOLD family whom we love so dearly. @ DJ TOOL stepped into our booth as midday loomed, and produced a vinyl-only masterclass, full to the brim of hard kicks, hypnotic textures and otherworldly, sonic energy.

With the worst of the pandemic in the rear-view mirror, Danish virtuoso DJ Tool can finally get back to IRL raves, and championing a signature brand of techno that blurs the gulf between the heady days of 90s trance and present. This is his second round for the Bassiani podcast series, a high voltage return to his Copenhagen roots. They’ve fully grown: quicksilver rhythms that have to be seen (and felt) in the flesh, though this one’s a glimpse of that magic at home. Bassiani Podcast 142 is pure euphoria, a pulsating journey through the world DJ Tool and his Fast Forward crew built.

With a vast gamut of inspirations, one thing is sure here: groove is king. Latent dynamism, seamless 4/4 transitions, sometimes toying with chopped vocals and deep rhythms, Schacke’s sense for music is both sweet and brainy. Until the next one, hats off to you Schacke.

Teen prodigy Inès Boullant has wasted no time getting started. Within just a few short years, she’s gone from an initial preamble at Tresor with her mom to cutting her teeth with Rinse France and the Possession crew, DJing and pushing her fledgling talents at full tilt to become a poster girl for everything that Paris has to offer vis-à-vis underground culture. She counts Hector Oaks, Ellen Allien as loyal mentors, and boasts a slew of scorching hot releases on KAOS and Lobster Theremin. Touring clubnight Under Rave yet another project on the list her golden touch has set alight. Add one more: Bassiani Podcast 154. This is the sound of the future, full-energy, anthemic trance, a soundtrack for great things to come. Fresh-faced and ready to rave, there’s little doubt u.r.trax is destined for stardom.

ANTIVERSE 26Nov22: DJ TOOL - Carbone club Paris

Mama Snake is the reptilian alias of Sara Svanholm, a Copenhagen-based DJ/Producer whose slithering beats are every bit as cunning as the name suggests. She’s an integral part of her city’s scene and a card-carrying member of collaborative ‘mixed media channel’ Amniote Editions alongside names like Celestial Trax, Hadone and D.Dan. Her full-blooded sound leaves no room for misinterpretation, it is thrilling, primal and overwhelming in the vein of the most compelling main stage techno. There’s a raw practicality to the music too, perhaps a function of her second career as a medical surgeon; Mama Snake wants to create a communal feeling through her work, and there’s the human touch. These rumbling rhythms might sound formidable, but they’re there to bring people together and get both bodies and progressive ideas moving. Bassiani Podcast 163 is pure, unadulterated, percussive power, 80 minutes of coiling loops and white-hot basslines from the Denmark-based techno matriarch.
