Cheeky Sneakers celebrates its grand opening in style as Denham Audio bring in a few friends for a masterclass in breakbeat-rooted club music. Russian talent Maruwa continues to spark buzz following her debut on Mall Grab's Steel City Dance Discs imprint, this time landing on Lobster Theremin with her ‘On My Mind’ EP. Showcasing a knack for rave-influenced sounds, fusing elements of breaks, acid, electro and dreamy trance, the new release is packed with a multitude of gripping flavors. Here Mixmag unveils 'This 1 Is For The Ravers', the track name speaks for itself, it's pure dancefloor energy!

Radio Slave returns to his Rekids imprint with the explosive ‘Stay Out All Night’.

As the artist behind ‘Grindhouse’, ‘Don’t Stop No Sleep’, ‘Another Club’, and many other timeless cuts, Radio Slave’s knack for crafting Herculean club tracks is unlike any other. ‘Stay Out All Night’ could be one of his biggest yet. With its cleverly arranged breakdowns, it's a high-octane track built on syncopated drums, lively breaks and chopped-up vocals. An absolute bomb. On the flip, ‘Wait A Minute’ thuds onwards with deafening kicks, rattling percussion, and an infectious stuttering vocal exclaiming the track’s title.

Proving to be one of the Berlin-based Brit’s most fertile years, the renowned producer continues to drop a broad range of releases and remixes on Rekids and beyond, including his three-part ‘Radio Silence’ album.

Radio Slave - Stay Out All Night

Sheffield production // DJ trio Denham Audio, make their Lobster Theremin debut with an incredible 5 tracker of breaks and bass, backed with a club fuelled remix from Lobster family regular Maruwa.  

EP opener ‘Feel The Panic’ sets the pace, crunchy drums with scorching acid basslines and old rave esque vocal hooks, merging into a dancefloor driven weapon.

‘Volt’ injects a punch, chopped up drum sequences with floating vocals and pulsating synth lines, one for the early hours of the dance. 

On the flip side Denham Audio leads with a drum driven roller ‘Bobby Wobbler’, breaks and beats soar and transform into a weighty number. 

‘Check 1’ blends classic rave esque sound pallets with punchy kick drums and clean, crisp synth lines.

Maruwa’s remix of ‘Check 1’ showcases her incredible ability to create productions destined to do the business in the clubs, hands in the air pads play gracefully with the drum elements from the original production. This one is for the ravers.

The final episode of Exit Planet Earth Series 2 on OpenLab is a special extended music only mix that takes in some of my favourite records produced in 2020AD. It’s not intended to be a ‘Best of 2020’ but more a selection of the records that resonated thru the year for me personally. There are many more that could have been included.
