RETSEM is the artistic persona of Maria Ester, a Bahia-born DJ currently based in Curitiba, Brazil. 

RETSEM explores her musical diversity with no strict rules, yet always with thorough research. Her sets blend the genres that shape her musical identity, mirroring the innovative approach she applies in her art production company, Lóbulo. 

Since 2022, Ester has been a driving force in Curitiba’s underground scene, seamlessly navigating between rap and electronic music while championing musical diversity.

Own words: "My goal was to showcase one of my biggest influences — gabber and happy hardcore. These genres captured my heart in electronic music and are what I enjoy playing the most."
