Wisdom Teeth co-founder K-Lone is dropping two EPs on Aus Music: the first instalment nods to UKG and house flavours, landing mid-May, while the second offers a deeper, broken techno vibe, arriving in late June. 'Give It Up' opens Part 1 with a bubbly rhythm and bassline that percolates through the woody, organic percussion. Lush pads and neon lines swirl skyward to silky and seductive effect as various other samples and daubs of colour bring the groove to life. The heady 'Wait 4 U' is a textbook K-Lone house cut with low swinging bass, sultry sax stabs and molten R&B samples that get the juices going next to warm, diffused synth lines.
On the flip, 'What I Want' ups the pace but keeps it deep and smooth with rubbery kicks and gooey bass overlaid
with soft-edged chord stabs that will pump the floor. Lastly, 'Own Way' closes down with a tumbling bassline that takes you deeper as muted vocal sounds and glowing chords hook you into an infectious groove suited to the most intimate dancefloors.
UK trailblazer K-Lone heads up the label Wisdom Teeth with fellow producer Facta and has released everything from club-primed garage to innovative home listening records. Whether cooking up kinetic beats and bouncy bass or soundtracking a lazy summer's afternoon with synthesised bird calls and lush marimbas, the London-bred artist is a proven studio wizard. Critical acclaim has come for both his ‘Swells’ and ‘Cape Cira’ albums, and now his ‘Catching Wild’ EPs for Aus Music offer yet another portal into the colourful world of his idiosyncratic, signature sound.
K-Lone ‘Catching Wild’ Pt. 1 and Pt. 2 drop via Aus Music on 17th May 2024 and 28th June 2024, respectively, on vinyl and digital formats.

Local Action are proud to present White Magick, a six-track EP by Deadboy that represents his longest and most complete release to date.

Deadboy is an innovator. His 2009 and 2010 singles ‘U Cheated’ and ‘If U Want Me’ predicted exactly where UK dance music would go after dubstep, though unlike a lot of the acts that followed in his slipstream, Deadboy’s music was never polite, and bassline house, dancehall and grime were as big influences as the r’n’b, pop and garage sensibilities that he combined so effectively. His vinyl-only single ‘Fireworks’ remains a high point for that era of UK club music, with Drake singing the track’s praises on radio.

Future EPs like Blaquewerk and Here saw Deadboy continue to apply his unique approach to club music, but on White Magick, he lets in influences from outside the club in ways that he hasn’t before: the presence of new age and ambient music is obvious from the opening notes of ‘White Moon Garden’, while ‘Copwar’ and ‘Sad Sniper’ are the two grimiest tracks that he’s released yet. ‘Inner Palace’, meanwhile, is a reminder that six years on from ‘U Cheated’, there’s still no one combining experimental club music and pop hooks like Deadboy.

It’s the message they’ve lived and worked by since before their days as 3 Channels: stay curious, have faith in others, appreciate life. Take what you do seriously, but don’t take life seriously… How we live it is ‘The Choice’ we all have to make. 
A bold statement against insular club culture, closed minds and lack of innovation, ‘The Choice’ continues Catz ‘N Dogz positive broadcasts with the help of Miss Bunty and three great friends on remix duties. Bunty instantly flips us back 25 years to a warehouse in New Jersey with a soulful, provocative sermon about the best things in life, people and places. She wraps herself tightly around a thumping, grainy jacking acid beat creating instant uplift, focus and a lesson we should all aspire to. 
Her powerful delivery works just as effectively over all remixes. Belgian Beton returns to Pets with a darker, rippling rhythm that drops its anchor in the timeless techno abyss while Bawrut continues the rich vein of form he’s developed on Ransom Note with a caustic frenzy of breaks, acid and raw, gut-wrenching sirens. Finally we have Soul Notes and Shall Not Fade affiliate Adryiano close the case. Laying down a bed of peppy organs, he creates a fittingly classic garage vibe for Bunty to sign out to. Open your eyes, open your ears. “The Choice” is yours!
