MAKS is 17 yr old Ben Marks a Sheffield based aspiring Musician, Producer / DJ & this, his debut release. Introduced to us by the always wonderful ‘Yarni' we were instantly drawn to how MAKS single ’North’ took us back to the 90’s. It’s also no surprise to hear that MAKS is a big fan of guys such as William Orbit & Moby.

Remix wise ’Sauco’ joins us again following his recent EP on COV & he stays true to the original yet effortlessly adds his magical Balearic touch.

Yarni (Well we had to) delivers remix number two and it’s a wonderful reimagining that further proves to us that he is one of the most creative producers out there.

This is a wonderful EP from a very talented young man with fantastic remixes from producers we much admire.

It took a long time to get this one done and we really had to wait a while for this drop. But it’s finally here and it blows our minds and souls.

KALAKUTA SOUL RECORDS come with a series of releases and new gems that surely will keep this year quite busy. After Al Kent’s killer joint that went by the title „Love & Care“, it’s Cuttlefish & Asparagus who once again deliver a strong three tracker made to work the hell out of every imaginable sound system. 

Mainly known for their unforgettable work on Black Sun’s self-titled epic track, Atlantis’ Cuttlefish & Asparagus deliver an A side that couldn’t work any hip harder. With a sound spectrum wider than the panama canal Hang On In There is guaranteed to turn any straight cut jeans into glossy orange bell bottoms and any mirror into a disco ball. 

On the B side Cuttlefish & Asparagus work out one of the most essential soul joints that always made you wonder why songs couldn’t play forever. Meticulously edited without changing the filth of the unique bassline, Loving You is a wild stomper made to immediately fill or blast any imaginable dance floor. 

And to adequatly close this drop, Drum Song transports the deep spirit of the crew behind KALAKUTA SOUL RECORDS who’s always after music they love to dance their asses off to. A Tropical bliss.

This EP features edits by Bottin, Sleazy McQueen, Albion, The Ivory Boy and Avanti. All tracks are edits from obscure Italian songs released between 1974 and 1980. 
Comes in a handmade jacket, limited pressing.

Juno: If you're going to launch a new re-edit series, it's probably wise to get some big hitters on board. That's certainly what the people behind Theme From Kaffe have done for their debut offering. Italian heavyweights Bottin lead the way with "Ora La So", a lo-slung, Clavinet-heavy chunk of dirty Balearica blessed with sleazy, whispered vocals. Sleazy McQueen continues the eccentric theme with the chugging reggae-disco bounce of "Back To Hell", before Albion ups the tempo on the dusty, vocoder-laden wonky disco chug of "Experimento". An excellent EP concludes with the sprawling soundtrack disco of Ivory Boy's "Mare" and "Bright Mezcal" by Avanti, a curiously bumpin chunk of dub disco weirdness blessed with alien synths and a brilliantly rubbery bassline.

Not least Quattro Music, where his forthcoming 'Betamax' EP can be found which includes the standout 'Flying Tiger'.
