The North of England is known for its musical prowess. Middlesbrough born Rees taps into that musical history while diving deep into lost disco, obscure wave and even the Middle East for his debut for Bordello. Three Eyes is a melting pot. Setting sail on bold beats and rumbling synthlines, Rees steers the listener through cascading chords, shimmering key shifts and serenading sirens to produce a truly unique dancefloor experience. Tjade, of Koi Jaye fame, is on remix duty. The winning formula of the original is adhered to with adjustments and ablutions guiding this interpretation. BPMs rise to give a fresh burst of energy. Norway's Snick Snack Music welcomes Scandinavian electronic duo Trulz & Robin for an album of
all-new analogue house jams.
This accomplished pair has already released four albums before this one and are masters of cooking up
characterful club tracks. They combine classic sounds from house and techno into something funky,
hypnotising and entirely their own. They call upon legendary house music vocalist Robert Owens, Kate
Pendry, and their longtime collaborator Baseman for guest spots on this sublime LP.
Say the duo of this latest endeavour, “‘Out of Sync’ is for us an album re-connecting us to our roots. We
wanted to create the music in the moment. With feeling and rawness. To embrace the imperfections that
arose, and leave out the minds analysing and controlling nature.”
Kicking things off is ‘Inside Of Me' featuring Chicago great Robert Owens; it’s a timeless tune that
could be a lost Fingers Inc cut. The drums are deep, and the vocal is among his best in years. 'U Get
Some' has a similar early era house vibe with rough edge drums and low-slung bass, then Kate Pendry
guests on 'This Is Love', a steamy deep acid cut with pounding drums and warped bass. 'Let Yourself
Go' is taught but sensual, with bulbous bass offset by sharp, bright hi-hats that cut right through. 'The
Wiggler' featuring Tolani & Baseman is one to get rumps moving with fat, wobbly bass and subtle acid
twitches and 'Sync' with Baseman is full flavour deep house with a dark soul and muted chords that
hook you in.
Robert Owen returns on 'Be There For U' with an ice-cold vocal that sits amongst lithe synths and stark
hits; It's old school Chicago house with a contemporary twist. 'Unconscious' is defined by a rousing
monologue from Muhammad Ali as turbulent bass sprays about beneath jacked-up drums and Chuc
Frazier closes things out on the peak time acid smasher 'Divine Electricity'
‘Out of Sync’ is another irresistible analogue house masterclass from Trulz & Robin. The album drops
on June 2nd, preceded by ‘Inside of Me’ on May 5th, ‘U Get Some’ on May 19th and ‘Divine Electricity’
on May 26th

Ever in search of an even-better environment to make music in, Joris Voorn has been hard at work this year constructing a new studio space near his home in Amsterdam. Having only very recently been completed, Joris immediately went to add the finishing touches on his next single in his new natural habitat. 'Genova' is the result, and its been well worth the wait.

A nagging techy beat with a funky undertone drives this infectious track, with monotone synth rhythms subtly rising from the depths to create tense pressure. Moments of teasing intensity increase the drama, before a beautiful arpeggiated melody unfolds and with it brings a sorrowful chord progression. The bass follows in tandem as we head towards a sparse breakdown which strips things down to the bare minimum. A lengthy snare build recalls classic trance as the synths pulse and swell, with a hooky vocal snippet announcing the drop. After some more of that juicy groove, an extended ambient outro provides an atmospheric, heavenly ending.

'Genova' has been heavily road-tested by Joris, featuring in all his sets over the summer and it has received huge reactions whenever played. It seems like his new studio has added a touch of magic to it, and we can all look forward to much more material coming out of it very soon indeed.

Beard Man label boss Mark Broom returns to Radio Slave’s Rekids with a swinging techno focused four-tracker entitled ‘Raver EP’

Since the early 90s, renowned UK artist and DJ Mark Broom has been cherished for his consistent output of rhythmically charged techno and energy spiking performances with releases on Warp, R&S, Soma, Hardgroove and Blueprint alongside collaborations with artists such as Baby Ford, James Ruskin, Discrete Circuit and Gary Beck. ​A regular on Rekids, Broom's contributed numerous releases and remixes to Matt Edwards' label - notably last year's massive 'Break 97 EP' - and his next outing sees the prolific producer return with four more versatile club-focused cuts.

‘Raver’ opens with boomy kicks, splashing cymbals and aggressive stabs until ‘Insta’ trembles the floor with rolling snares, driving rides, distorted claps and arpeggiated synth patterns. On the flip, ‘Midnight’ takes retro sounding keys and adds peak time drive with lofi drums, distant vocals and a sleek funk line sample before ‘Hear Me’ electrifies with a tease of classic 90s-esque lyrics, bouncing toms and elated chords.

Alex Kassian steps up for his first solo 12” on Love On The Rocks with ‘Oolong Trance’, a driving, tropical-tinged uplifting acid trip in ‘Club’ and ‘Paradise’ mixes and a supercharged ‘ADHS’ mix from Telephones. Kassian is no stranger to the label, which celebrated its fifth birthday last year with the 4-part ‘Supergau’ compila- tion that opened with Kassian’s ‘Chopstick Romance’. He also remixed Ghost Vision in 2018 on their Love On The Rocks debut, ‘Shakuhachi’.

Young Kassian from Kyoto, who has the silkiest hair in house, has recently been enjoying success alongside his longtime collaborator Hiroaki OBA as Opal Sunn, taking their live show on tour around Europe and Asia with stops at Field Maneuvers in the UK and Panorama Bar in Berlin. Their first releases on their own imprint, Planet Sundae, got the attention of the late Andrew Weatherall (RIP) and early support from the likes of DJ Sprinkles and Nick Höppner, who released their last two EP’s on his label, Touch From A Distance: ‘Parallax’ in late 2018, and ‘Laika’, earlier this year.

As well as being Kassian’s debut on the label, ‘Oolong Trance’ is the first Love On The Rocks record for 2020, so, what’s in the tea? The Club mix is classic Kassian: big kicks, driving percussion, swirling pads, a tropical sunrise, a celestial organ and a large dash of acid. The Paradise Mix is what you get when you let it brew a couple seconds longer: off the charts trance levels and Alex delivering some truly ecstatic piano work, channelling the spirit of a young George Michael, truly intoxicated on the Oolong drank.

Telephones also delivers a hell of a brew, with his 9-minute, 90s house and garage inflected ‘ADHS’ remix taking the keys off in yet another direction and delivering a energetic, Chicago-inspired oddball rework with hints of De- troit and more than a few drops of old school, classic house spiritualism. The tea, as they say, is particularly good today.

The history of the DJ & producer duo and couple Local Suicide stretches back over a decade to the year 2008. Since meeting, Munich-born Brax Moody and Thessaloniki native Vamparela have collaborated together on various projects, all culminating in the conception of Local Suicide in Berlin. Local Suicide’s distinctive sound, is an energetic fusion of new wave, EBM, post disco and dark techno that they themselves have given the name technodisco, while Beatport declared them as one of the key figures in the uprising dark disco scene.

Their DJ career has carried them to all four corners of the world, whipping crowds into a frenzy at Lollapalooza, Melt!, ADE, Off Sonar, Festival Forte, Berlin Festival and almost every club the German capital has to offer. Their live cuts have been honed to perfection with years of shows alongside the very best in the scene, even being invited by New Order to warm up for their live performance. This hectic schedule has taken them across Europe, Asia, North Africa, South America and the United States.

Local Suicide has had a stunning amount of press coverage from leading mags like DJ Mag UK/IT/US/LA/ES, Mixmag, FAZE, Groove, TRAX, Time Out, Tsugi, XLR8R & Rolling Stone and has played themselves in Fett & Fett, a series broadcasted on the biggest german national TV station ZDF in which their musical productions were featured extensively as well.

In 2021 the powerhouse launched their own label Iptamenos Discos where they recently released their critically acclaimed debut album ‘Eros Anikate’ among others. In 2022 the duo also revealed their new live band project Dina Summer with Kalipo with which they released their debut album ‘Rimini’ on Audiolith Records. The LP got praised by German magazines such as Der Spiegel, Musikexpress, Musikwoche, Kulturnews, Sonic Seducer and was featured as album of the week on Sunshine Live & Laut.
