We are proud to present the fifth instalment of the Pal’s compilation, with talent from across the globe, coming together to create a collection to soundtrack these strange days.

First up, Aural Trace sets the scene with the slow burning celestial soundscapes of ‘Melange’, where choral overtones curl up snuggly along the drum machine, fusing organic and mechanics.

The influence of the Cologne School seeps through every pour of M Love’s ‘Oboda’ with warm analogue melodies oozing throughout. 
Churning distorted guitars twist between the throbbing tribal drums of Mufti’s 'Fascinatio'.

Marzian’s 'Conversaciones Delirantes' pulls us through a psychedelic shapeshifting bass heavy prism of sound. Sharp stabs cut through the bass on Flvn’s ‘Yule’, no mistake, this could soundtrack a slasher movie in-spite of its festive title.

Leo af Ekenstam’s ‘Stress’ carries a tense, yet driving groove punctuated by nervous guitars and shady atmospherics. 

A bubbling bit-crushed low end permeates Montessori’s 'Speed Dating’s dark EBM tinged muscular workout.

Stockholm Syndrome teams up with Lusca to craft a pumping retro synth infused stomper which twists and jitters from the opening bars to the last refrain.

Cabizbajo and Colossio also combine their production talent to create the cavernous feedback driven echofest of ‘Ley’ with twisted arpeggios and animal like sounds dancing in and around the drums.

Manner of Speaking play out with ‘the Unknown’, a brooding instrumental downtempo track which strikes a literal and figurative chord with the collective consciousness this past year.

The always interesting Mexican label NUFF MUSIC finally starts its 2022 season! For the 12th EP of the acclaimed imprint, Madrid-based artists Rams & Ivan De La Rouch (FREEDL022/032) teamed up again – the lads have already had previous collaborations released on Espacio Cielo and Golden Soul Records. This time, they bring to life “Diskobrute”, a mighty and cosmic Indie Dance-inclined single featuring fat remixes by Azaria (SXDNS076 as Dirt Track, a duo formed along with Javier Busto) and Disco Mortale, the new alter ego of Daniel Monaco (SXDNS137/FREEDL006). Premiered here, the latter’s contribution, by the way.

If Daniele Labbate tends to explore more his Italo Disco influences when he releases under his main and most prolific moniker, Daniel Monaco, as Disco Mortale he leans into the realms of EMB, Techno/Disco hybrid sounds and Acid vibes. For his interpretation of “Diskobrute”, DM kept the main elements of the original but blended them with more robust and darker ingredients, such as an obscene bassline, a boisterous synth layer, and ominous vocals, resulting in another top-notch piece from this essential artist.

Canada’s ALI X (formally Azari & iii) and Mexico’s XIMENA are releasing their self-titled, debut album project. Set for release this July via their own label ‘CONTROLLA’, tracks from the album are receiving remixes from a selection of well-respected artists, as is the case here with Timothy Clerkin's remix of "No Me Gustas."

After many failed attempts at writing the press release for such an ambiguous project, it's the artists themselves that introduce the album… 

“ALI X (ex Azari & III) and XIMENA (Controlla.Mx) are a powerhouse duo whose risky Spanglish techno-rap out of Mexico City cuts raw, rugged barrio street juice with laser sharp cultural rhetoric, radiated by a dominant visual element unique to their assay. Their Spring 2020, self-titled debut album is a bricolage of radical freak poetics and hyper-focused observations, entangled in a dusky jungle of dank, chunky production and abstracted aural art pieces. Berlin-East Frisian Heindenreich, also known as one half of Leggings, a slow Indie-Dance formation with his partner in crime DJ Cremant, challenges Francophile vocalist ANGST vor GRETA for his Je Palpite EP on Dutch label Sinchi Collective. Beside the original version of Je Palpite, the track comes with remixes from Calypso head honcho Thomas Jackson and Robert Johnson mainstay Chinaski, who finally delivers new material after his collaboration with Curses on Dischi Autunno earlier this year. As expected and as fresh as a tropical fruit Chinaski squeezes the Disco-ish note out of Heidenreich's original and exchanges it with more progressive and heavily hitting electroid essences that turn his version of Je Palpite to a kiwano, an exotic warm composition with an edgy and raw musical backbone.

Heidenreich feat. ANGST vor GRETA's EP Je Palpite will be released on Sinchi Collective on October 30th, 2020.

The history of the DJ & producer duo and couple Local Suicide stretches back over a decade to the year 2008. Since meeting, Munich-born Brax Moody and Thessaloniki native Vamparela have collaborated together on various projects, all culminating in the conception of Local Suicide in Berlin. Local Suicide’s distinctive sound, is an energetic fusion of new wave, EBM, post disco and dark techno that they themselves have given the name technodisco, while Beatport declared them as one of the key figures in the uprising dark disco scene.

Their DJ career has carried them to all four corners of the world, whipping crowds into a frenzy at Lollapalooza, Melt!, ADE, Off Sonar, Festival Forte, Berlin Festival and almost every club the German capital has to offer. Their live cuts have been honed to perfection with years of shows alongside the very best in the scene, even being invited by New Order to warm up for their live performance.
