After a short break, Vibes and Grooves is back in its usual jazzy manner with a new EP from Shaka.

The title track "From Distance To Common" builds up with a beautiful and calm piano solo and merges into a firework of hypnotic rhythmic piano chords and leads for the dance floor. "Answer To Destructive Forces" is a multi-layered and complex secret house weapon filled with piano solos and lead riffs.

"Green Zone" creates a groovy gospel atmosphere with its driving bass line and the gripping hammond sound.

Tel Aviv's Nenor has released on the most illustrious of imprints like Moodymann's Mahogani Music, Dam Swindle's Heist Recordings, Strictly Rhythm and Defected, with a wide-ranging house sound fusing clever sampling with the sounds of vintage gear and rare synths.

He arrives on Burnin Music with a stunning quartet of deep grooves ready for balmy summer daze and nites.

The title track jams along with insistent Rhodes chords and dubby chords and drum fills that give a nod to his time spent living and recording reggae musicians in Jamaica, while 'Side Effect' heads into dreamier territory with its chuggy tempo, '70s film score strings, twinkling electric pianos and guitar glissandos.

'Start It Up' recalls golden age hip-hop with its taut drum break and melancholy key scales and chords, and 'Green Time' finishes off in beguiling style with a hypnotic and darkly-tinged tribal rhythm.

All tracks written, produced and mixed by Ronen "Nenor" Sabo except "Start it up" written by Lior Romano & Ronen "Nenor" Sabo.

Marching through the tropical forest there was very little to do but to sigh begrudgingly and embrace the heat. In spite of the ridiculous temperatures there was a pleasant breeze blowing softly between the deep green leaves. They were marching onwards and upwards in search of the blue lagoon, a mythical break point amidst the trees which would guarantee happiness and a decent night's rest. Until then they would continue to dance and weave amidst the toweing giants. 

K2 is a producer you may or may not be familiar with. An alias of sorts for a mystery man who is very much in demand at the moment. He delivers two edits for Version Galore.

Hot Russian label Minor Notes is back at it again with another VA release from some of the finest producers in their land. Sunner Soul caught our attention with his track 'Chewing Gum' with Scruscru last year. This time he's flying solo with glorious 'Shadows In The Garden'. After a fairytale introduction to the track is over he lays down a sumptuous groove fit for only the finest discotheque. We particularly like the wobbly synth sequence running over it all. On repeat.

The A side contains "Virtue‘, a journey along a mesmerising piano solo and "Higher Spirit", a broken beat praise to music featuring the soulful voice of MISS C-LINE.
The B side focuses on remixes. Legendary Chicago producer Glenn Underground, laying down his signature drums on "Virtue" while Labelhead honcho Azul Loose Ties provides a stripped down version of it.
