This is another taste of sounds from his forthcoming sophomore album ‘All Werk Is Play’, following on from singles, ‘Eterno Retorno’, ’In Saint-Gilles’, ‘Move Different’ and ‘Battered Mars Bar’, which respectively received spins from BBC 6Music’s Jamz Supernova, Tom Ravenscroft, Huey Morgan and Afrodeutsche, as well as love from selectors such as DJ Paulette, Scratcha DVA, Zakia Sewell (NTS) & Jyoty (Rinse).

In 2020, Werkha released ‘The Rigour’ on First Word, and dropped ‘Beat Tapestry ’ in late 2021 on a limited cassette. All Werk Is Play’ marks Werkha’s first full-length solo project since his debut album ‘Colours Of A Red Brick Raft’ on Tru Thoughts in 2015.

‘Beauty & The Bloc’ is another uptempo composition from Werkha(real name Tom Leah), fusing analogue jazz-funk vibes with modern dance music sensibilities. Horns from Aaron Wood lead the way on top of a 5/4 rhythm track, with Werkha’s signature squelchy saw synths, subtly turning the smooth to rough for another triumphant heads-down groove, which has been doing the business live on dancefloors from Low Four in Manchester to The Jazz Cafe in London.

Werkha hails from Manchester and has been releasing music for a decade, collaborating and remixing artists such as Quantic, Bryony Jarman-Pinto, Marcos Valles and Andrew Ashong, and touring with Bonobo, Chet Faker and Mr Scruff.

Exclusive Premiere: Werkha "Beauty and the Bloc"

Seattle's @kidsimpledubs caught our ears in the application process for the 2013 Red Bull Music Academy with his intricate, free-flowing layering of melancholic sound textures. With a sonic vision already fully formed early on in his career, the producer continues to add to his template on his new release for @hush-hush-records.

The <i>Silo Tear</i> EP is arguably Kid Smpl's most palpable effort yet. Apparent on the title track, which we are happy to premiere, the producer weaves in more abrasive rhythmical and textural elements than what we've heard from him thus far. Washes of noise add to the dramatic feel introduced by somber synths and sorrowful vocal samples, drawing connections to the work of Burial just as they to do that of fellow NYC Academy grad Evian Christ. Ahead of their 2018 tour, Melbourne natives 30/70 Collective have released their follow up remix EP entitled "Elevations", showcasing their magnificent musical artistry. The EP itself is a well-constructed buzzing compilation of reimagined songs by the gifted quintet known for their jazz infused funk sound. The record is released on no other than Bradley Zero's mighty Rhythm Section and it was only a matter of time until the label and blossoming man of the moment, Neue Grafik, joined forces once more. The MPC master, Neue Grafik, executes a crisp, garage- fused, break-beat sound, full of soul with a classic French house dance music flavour, with his remix of the bands 2017 track 'Slangin'.

Filling dance floors across continents, close friends Bradley Zero and Fred (Neue Grafik) have consistently devised and dispatched real electronic party music with a healthy serving of soul. Following his latest EP, "Innervision", Neue Grafik takes this opportunity to showcase his effortless ability to make a track his very own, introducing a silky sultry Parisian chic vibe to the song. Grafik captivates us within the first few seconds of this track, with the smooth, enchanting, gradual build up of lo-fi sound mixed with hazy mysterious chattering vocals - you can't help but lean in and listen, like a sexy stranger with a deep voice.

Slangin is an original blend of Hip-Hop, Broken Beat, Garage and French house, the atmosphere that comes with the track is pure nostalgia.
