London’s Release/Sustain (@releasesustain) imprint returns this May with the "A Says Hello" EP from Detroit’s Alton Miller, with Chaos In The CBD stepping in for the remix duties.

Detroit’s Alton Miller has been in the game for the past three decades coming up alongside luminaries Derrick May, Chez Damier and the late Frankie Knuckles and releasing material on the likes of Peacefrog, Moodymann’s Mahogany Music, Theo Parrish’ Sound Signature and Clone amongst others. Suffice to say, Miller stands as an extremely important figure in the history of authentic, soul-drenched House music.

‘Cool But So…’ borrows both from the old and the new, tinged with an Acid-Jazz flare while sounding updated and fresh. Broken and shuffling rhythms are held together by cascading pads and washes. Made for the club, Alton Miller gives the drums 32 at the end for an oh-so-smooth transition out.

The "A Says Hello" EP releases May 28 (Vinyl) and July 9 (Digitally) on Release/Sustain.

In the summer of 2017, Good Vibrations Music unleashed its debut release - a rich, indulgent and groovy house workout from label founder Sean McCabe and honey-voiced soul vocalist Mike City entitled 'I Know Someone'. Almost two years on, the song has been given a new lease of life by New York house legend Frankie Feliciano.

Feliciano has long been renowned for the quality of his 'Ricanstruction' remixes, named in tribute to his Latin heritage and the Ricanstruction Records imprint he established in 1997. Fittingly, his suite of fresh remixes begins with a fresh 'Ricanstruction Vocal' of 'I Know Someone', where Mike City's silky smooth vocal, toasty keys and mazy synthesiszer solos stretch out above a distinctively swung Latin house rhythm and a jaunty synth bassline. This trademark soulful vocal version is accompanied by 'Ricanstruction' Instrumental and Radio Edit mixes, as well as a mesmerizing 'Beatapella' in which Mike City's breathtaking vocal takes pride of place above Feliciano's toughened-up Latin house beats.

Feliciano isn't finished there, though. He also offers up a chunky 'Classic Vocal' that sees him lay the emotion-rich vocal and his own twinkling keys, colourful synthesizer lines and headline-grabbing bassline over a throwback house beat. It's one that should please the old school house heads. Throw in a 'Classic Instrumental' and a spacey, beat-free 'KeyApella' for the DJs, and you have a fittingly impressive collection of reworks from one of American house music's most distinctive producers.

Opolopo & Atjazz meets music globetrotter Mr Martin Denev in order to come up with this amazing release of Neo Jazzy fusion, Ethno Electronic leaks and quality house foundations.

Martin Denev shifts slightly from the Nu Discoey / Balearic sounding style that has characterized some of his previous releases to cross into a deeper-Jazzier direction in collaboration with singers: Sasha Zico & HanLei. Then for the remixes is no other than Mr Peter Major (Aka Opolopo) and Martin Atjazz working out their magical thing in order to come up with some incredible mixes, sealing off this package in such a beautiful way.

Broken Beat, Future Soul, Nu Jazz followers will also find a connection with this release.

Defo a must have for those exploring into NU Jazzy directions...

FOLIAGE keep the goodness rolling in 2021 with the single ON THE ROAD a very special collaboration between THE REALM, ATJAZZ & KELLI SAE.

ON THE ROAD is recreation of the wonderful INCOGNITO outro groove from the bands LIFE, STRANGER THAN FICTION album released on GILLES PETERSON’s TALKIN LOUD back in 2001.

OLI LAZARUS & TONI ECONOMIDES aka THE REALM & MARTIN IVESON aka ATJAZZ recorded ON THE ROAD during the first pandemic lockdown in 2020 and worked with a list of heavyweight musicians including MATT COOPER (RHODES & PIANO), MIKE PATTO (SYNTHS), SID GAULD (TRUMPET), JAMIE ANDERSON (SAXOPHONE) and TREVOR MIRES (TROMBONE) to recreate this slice of musical gold.

KELLI SAE is the original vocalist who featured on ON THE ROAD having toured and recorded with INCOGNITO for many years. It didn’t take much discussion from the guys to speak with KELLI and then record her glorious and unique latin jazz tones to really sprinkle the magic dust over the track.
