Nestled in a beautiful valley in the Karoo is Place of Dreams. This magical place has been the home of some of the best parties Cape Town has to offer. 

We journeyed out to the Karoo for 3 days and played 2 sets at the venue. We closed Friday night with this set, it was curated to be driving and hard-hitting to keep people moving and grooving.

In for a surprise on Upon.You Records is Nayan Soukie, also known as a part of Soukie & Windish – a well known, prolific producer who is presenting his latest solo project Amount with a striking three track single release named „Dual System Experience“.

The opening title tune „Dual System Experience“ aims straight at the heart of the dancefloor with a unique take on ever spiralling hyperfuturism, a true psychoacoustic journey meandering in between distinct Tech sounds, warped space-time and even hints of DubTechno, presenting one of the most outstanding, boundary pushing tunes you might come across these days.

Exploring the „Brachland“ we see  Amount bringing on a simple, yet well catchy big room House groove alongside reverberating, fever'ish Tribal percussions and slightly off-kilter synth pads ever building up a hovering, moving, outerworldly melodic structure drawing punters mights into a Trance-infused nirvana even before mystical male vocals provide an additional level of dancefloor shamanism.

Finally „Modul Morph“ takes off into a cleaner, more scientific direction groove-wise, providing a proper TechHouse swing alongside more of Amount's trademark psychoacoustic wizzardry paired with beautifully hovering string pads and distinct, highly recognizable Latino-vocals for an extra infusion of high octane energy before an ultimate crowd liftoff throughout melodic primetime sessions covering maximum (Neo)Trance greatness for well heaving masses.

Locked Illusions is a Cape Town based duo that started in 2015, with two best friends brought together by music. Both taking an interest into music from a young age, the duo’s taste has been moulded by two wildly different backgrounds into a complex array of sounds. Siphumle, better known as Sip brings an African approach to the duo finding an interest in genres such as Afro-Tech, Afro-Beats and Techno. Lucas brings to the table a complex mix of House, Minimal and Acid Tech with their first original track being an acid track, Sytrus, released in early 2020. Together the duo brings a new kind of Electronic music that sets the energy of the audience on a cloud-nine journey, with intimate vibrations and consistent grooving. Locked Illusions’s will be sure to keep high pressure on the dance floor at all times.
