For them...

LOCKIN were formed in 2008 in Leeds England.

The band have always been passionate about playing the music they love, saying;

‘We play the music we enjoy to play, because we enjoy playing it. If other people enjoy what we do then that’s great but that cant be all you aim for. At the end of the day we have to have a passion for what we do on stage, we want our music to be honest and true to us and most importantly, we don’t want to sound like anybody other than LOCKIN.’

This uncompromising view has meant LOCKIN have had to work even harder to get themselves out there and make people listen to what they have to say.

That’s not to say the band are inaccessible, or that the music is ear shatteringly heavy; although certainly not a ‘tame’ band with tracks like ‘These Three Skulls’ and ‘Black Horizon’ with their crunching riffs and driving bass, tracks like ‘Night Worker’ and ‘Insignificant’ take us to a far more melodic place, while still managing to maintain the bands unique sound.

And the unique sound they achieve is due, in part, to the bands 3-piece line-up, the lack of a second guitar means the band choose to base their tracks around solid riffs and melodies as opposed to long, drawn out solo’s. This gives a fullness and quality to the bands music that is evident throughout all of their tracks, and it’s clear as much time is spent planning the song’s structure as is spent on the riffs and vocal hooks.

The current line-up consists of:
Dave battle - Vox/Guitar
Ben Dickinson - Bass/Backing Vox
Martin Hills - Drums

Already the band have had tracks played on international radio stations and begun to receive plenty of attention on the undergound metal scene, as well as in the local press.
The band have also had major support slots with ‘InMe’ and ‘Hayseed Dixie’, and are due to support 80’s metallers ‘The Tygers of Pantang’ later this year.
LOCKIN are definitely one to watch!

LOCKIN’s first EP - 'These Three Skulls' is available now and the band are hoping to organise a short tour to coincide with its release.
