For our 14th release, we are honoured to feature Psynchro for a second time, who share an EP alongside label founder, NickBee.

Opening AXR014 we have collaboration between all of the artists involved on the release, who have combined their talent to create a track entitled ‘Polished’. As its name suggests, this clean yet powerful piece of music contains lush atmospheres, peppered with angelic melodic and vocal stabs which set rich, thick backdrop. Swiftly transitioning into snappy tech driven drums and a punchy bassline, its sure to be a staple for sets across the globe this summer.

Next up, NickBee displays his elite production talents on ‘Alchemical’. Utilizing his signature snappy drums to guide the track, he responds to their hits with a lively and percussive bass line.

To close the EP, Psynchro deliver the heavy hitting ‘Basic Elements’. Unlike the name suggests, this complex techy roller delivers an onslaught of high energy drums, juxtaposed by a powerful modulated and driving bassline. This track effortlessly shows why this production trio have gained so much recognition in the relatively short time they have been involved with the drum and bass scene.

This expertly crafted collaboration between artists shows that despite what is happening throughout the world, music transcends borders, and bridges the gaps in an otherwise divided society.

Bad Taste Recordings hits 2016 in severe kinetic style with a fresh pair of tracks launching the identity of MALUX, the new Neurofunk-focussed moniker of established bass producer SKOPE (Inspected, Technique Recordings). 
With “Turbine” and “Fonk” the agenda is clear-energetic, funk-fuelled DnB driven by detailed low-frequency design and a boisterous rave vibe.
TURBINE carries with it a stripped aesthetic, with a percussive pattern driven by the snare and wonky plucked synth work. This is heads-down, bassface material for ravers to get into step to.
FONK on the flip hits a cheeky upbeat tone, switching slickly between bass textures punctuated by staccato sonic fragments.
With support from scene titans such as Andy C, The Upbeats and radio play from Friction on BBC R1 and Crissy Criss on Kiss FM, Malux has immediately caught the attention of those who know.
Bad Taste hits the nail on the head again, introducing another name with a big destiny into the halls of Drum & Bass.

Two talents, one from Lithuania and the other from Estonia. Together Marius and Mark make a formidable team. Recently emerging from the European underground scene, they tie together the darkest aspects that arena has to offer. And this brand new release epitomizes not just the work which Logam's prominent label has to offer, but also what Marius Kirjutaja and Mark Bogdanovas are about to bring to the world of drum & bass.

Going under the pseudonym Mean Teeth, they expose another level of destruction to your speakers and with the help of tastemaker Trilo they're about to prove unstoppable. With only four previous releases under their belt, once before on US torch holder Santoku as well as Bad Taste and Plasma, it's time to fully indulge in the sound they've established from their very first output.

Featuring a nastily foreboding intro, ‘Hatch' leaves you freefalling through revving bass and crushing snare. Its bassline zips and tears through the composition with every layer gradually bolstering the mix. You're made acutely aware that these guys mean business and they're not about to go easy on you. It's the type of techy, no holds barred drum & bass which has made the genre so overpowering in recent months.

Like a science fiction movie, ‘Leviathan' focuses primarily on atmospherics throughout your introduction. Before long, you become enamoured by the crunchiness of its bass riddims, with each pad adding another stepping stone within its configuration. It's lumbering, whilst still swift in the way it throttles your aural senses and you'll find yourself unable to untangle yourself from its grasp.

Already showing themselves to be of a high caliber with their previous two tracks, ‘Escape Pod' follows the same pattern, fluctuating quickly between frequencies and elevating bass notes. Crushing snare adds another sphere, once again returning to those carefully spaced out rifts which are slowly becoming their signatures.

Then lastly, comes ‘Gun Squad'. Featuring Trilo, who's already established himself amongst his competitors, they combine to create an unfathomable force. Trilo brings the pain, demonstrating why he's so revered whilst he merges his production style with Mean Teeth to exorcise a demon of musical proportions. Together, they round up an EP that'll launch their reputation, as well as bring Santoku even further onto the forefront.
