Representing the south coast of France from their home base of Marseille while bringing their infectious energy to
all corners of the globe, Yungness & Jaminn are looking to step things up further in what looks set to be an
extremely busy twelve months for the bubbling duo. Fresh from releases on Cloonee’s Hellbent Records, Lee Foss’
labels Repopulate Mars and South Of Saturn, and SOSA’s COCO, the pair step up with the sophomore release on
Loco Dice’s newly launched SB Recordings - having already released on Dice’s iconic Desolat in late 2019 - with
the industry heavyweight welcoming them for two robust efforts across ‘Love For U / Koppa’.
Fusing bumping low-ends, hard-hitting kicks and hooky vocals, title cut ‘Love For U’ quickly builds its foundation
before marching forth as a peak-time anthem with serious impact, while ‘Koppa’ layers snaking grooves, murky
basslines and crisp percussion licks beneath further vox samples to not hold anything back across the second
original on the package.
Delivering back-to-back remixes on the label, Loco Dice’s take on ‘Koppa’ builds on the original’s energy as he
draws for heavy kicks, sharp metallic percussion licks and off-kilter melodies for yet more dancefloor action - big!

My first release from back in 2002! I wrote the lyrics, but they sounded too American, so I had a UK homie give 'em dat Brit flavor. Timo Maas scooped it up for his Four:Twenty label. It’s been a wild ride ever since.

My first big record on a well known and influential label. I gave the music to @Josh Wink and it took him one year to release it, which was pretty normal back in the day. 

“Menina Brasileira” came after I watched a wack movie with Penelope Cruz, ate something wrong and had a bad night’s sleep. The next day I went to the studio with the idea to produce a deep house track. Not a cliché deep house track, but to capture a deep house vibe in a non-deep house track. 

Just listen to the vocal on the flip, “Jacuzzi Games,” and you can imagine the scenario.

I first gave to “Seeing Through Shadows” @Ricardo Villalobos. He was the only guy who was able to play crazy stuff. Please keep in mind, that this sound was not big at that time, and Ricardo was really far out. 

We were at the Dance Valley Festival, playing the Circoloco stage. Ricardo came to me during his set and said: “I’m going to play your track! Watch @Richie Hawtin’s face!“ He played the tune, and after first chords I saw Rich go to Ricardo. I didn’t really know him at that time. I just saw Ricardo laughing and pointing at me.

Loco Dice - Seeing Through Shadows (Minus)

The main element on “Carthago” is the Moog. It was a new approach, influenced by the new kind of sound that was slowly taking over. Minimal was on its way to dominate the dance scene in the coming years, but I didn’t consider myself minimal. The new sound, focus on particular machines for main elements of the tracks. That approach felt somehow German and old school, and the result had to be released on an old school German label.  Thank you Sven and the team!

Surging in global demand and continuing to impress both within the studio and beyond the decks, Danish/Filipino DJ/producer and label owner Manda Moor and her groove-infused house sound have been making waves of late. With her stand-out single ‘Picante’ still featured heavily in rotation for an endless list of key names, and with her own Mood Child imprint thriving, the next step in Moor’s growing journey is a bold entrance and a big label debut on Loco Dice’s SB Recordings as she serves up her latest single, ‘KarateCat’.
“I wanted to reveal a different facet of my musical persona. By creating a high-energy tune, I drew inspiration from Dice's vibe and hip-hop influences, infusing it with my own spice.” - Manda Moor.
Packed full of vigour and bringing yet more shades of her vibrant and punchy trademark sound, ‘KarateCat’ is an all-action affair from the off as skippy percussion, warping vocal iterations, piercing stabs and bumping bass licks take hold for a sizzling terrace affair, before Dice’s no-nonsense interpretation of the track sees the label head honcho toughen things up with heavy-kitting kicks while adding to the low-ends with a carnival-infused bedlam of energy to close the show.

Bang! Here's my new album for u!

It’s been 7 years since "7 Dunham Place“ - my first electronic album. An artist album isn't just a compilation of club tracks. It’s a concept that allows experiments, that opens up spaces for narratives, and allows the artist to go really far. At least that is the way I see it. I put everything into it, it was all or nothing. Martin Buttrich and I packed our studio and moved to Brooklyn in 2006. That album is a musical document of my time in and experience of Brooklyn, it sums up a period of my life, and for me it was a natural conclusion.

After "7 Dunham Place" there weren’t enough stories for an album. I was in the mood for straight, banging club tracks - for singles. I’d say that my "Toxic" EP from 2012 marks the end of that period. It was the time when I built my studio in Düsseldorf, and loose stories and ideas slowly intensified and condensed.

We invited guests to jam with us, rock the drum machines, synths and old, raw gear with us. Guti, Miguel de Ipola, Kobe aka Pimp Jackson, Chevy, my old hip-hop crew with whom I used to share stinky hotel rooms and tour buses in 1995. All the dots connected. What was meant to be warm-up sessions with guests, instantly became the sound I was looking for and the soundtracks to these new scenarios.

Then the features came...

There are strong bonds with all artists involved and everything unfolded naturally. I danced to Neneh Cherry's music when I was hip-hop kid, and I still do. Pulshar is one of my favorite bands who's two albums we released on my label Desolat Music Group. With Just Blaze, it was like two hip-hop guys working on something completely different, something harder, and it instantly worked. Jaw is not only that crazy guy who shares Tunisian roots with me, but his voice is special and fitted perfectly. Behind Mr. Techno there is Chris Liebing, super warm and funny guy with whom I share a lot, but whose artistic expression is quite different than mine, so here the opposites collide. Miss Kittin is a long time friend, and it was only her who could have completed that one song. Last but not least there is Giggs. You can’t ignore him if you look out of the US hip-hop box. He is unique. When I met him in London and played him the album, he was totally diggin’ it, he understood where I wanted to go with it, and I had him on board.

There have been so many changes around me since my first album that has become the narrative for "Underground Sound Suicide", and in a way I used music as a transmitter. It comes from the heart and is a testimony of who I am now.

Ultra Music's got my back on this one and the album will be going through the team there. They believe in it, and I'm happy to have them on board. Also here paths are crossing again. David Waxman from Ultra and I know each other since my early gigs in NYC in the early 2000s. Now we write this exciting new chapter together.

The South African phenomenon Black Coffee has become well known in recent years due to his impeccable blend of house, infused with African culture and vibes. In 2012, ‘Buya’ was released featuring the stunning vocalist Yoshi.  The track went platinum in Africa in 2 months, bringing Black Coffee into the international spotlight. Now, Get Physical has taken the reigns and handed the track over to Loco Dice, M.A.N.D.Y. and Da Cappo for their remix wizardry.  

Loco Dice who has African roots spends his proceeds of the EP for the development of the new website, and the donation campaign for the Kliptown Youth Centre in Soweto, South Africa, a non-profit project that provides hope through tutoring, athletic, music and arts programs.  The returns will go to helping the heroes of the Kliptown Youth Center in Soweto, South Africa, giving kids a chance to create and express themselves whereas they might not have had that chance before. The youth is our future, and right now they need our help and support.

From early breakout hit "Phat Dope Shit" in 2002 to "Heavy Heart", a new collaboration with Skrillex and Fireboy DML, Dice has always been in the headlines. After his debut album "7 Dunham Place" on his own now long-running and well-regarded Desolat in 2008, came the major label follow-up "Underground Sound Suicide" on Ultra Music with guests like Giggs, Just Blaze, and Neneh Cherry, then the agenda-setting and club-focussed house and techno showcase that was "Love Letters" in 2018. 

Add in tens of EPs on Ovum, Minus, Cocoon, to name a few, and his remixes from everyone from Kevin Saunderson to Moby, Black Coffee to Disclosure, Warren G to Basement Jaxx, Loco Dice has always been at the beating heart of the electronic scene. 

His DJ sets, too, always brim with personality, whether in a small underground basement or on an iconic main stage at some of the world's top festivals like EDC Ultra, Tomorrowland and Coachella to name a few, playing to thousands. He has had era-defining residencies at iconic Ibiza super clubs like Circoloco at DC-10 and on the Amnesia Terrace as well at Space Miami. 

His lockdown move has been to unveil En Coleur, a label reserved exclusively for his own music produced at that time. SB Recordings followed. A new label open to all styles of dance music.

Since day one Loco Dice constantly pushes the boundaries of techno and house music production, from his appearance in 2004 PlayStation2 game "Decks & FX" to cooking up his own ideal fusions of hip hop and electronic music with his FKD side project or writing critically acclaimed runway soundtracks for Italian fashion designer Marcelo Burlon during Men’s Fashion Week in Milan for both FW20 and SS20.

Dice's distinctive fashion sense and strong visual aesthetic manifest in his collaborations with Amsterdam fashion label Daily Paper, pro sports hat purveyors New Era and in his own clothing brand Seran Bendecidos. 

All of this and his longevity prove that Loco Dice is undoubtedly an insatiable creative force most interested in the uncharted territory between genres and styles, the elements that link everything together.
