legendary musicians and artists come together in a  tiny Neapolitan village.
Nourished by the warmth, peace and pace of village life, and soaked in southern Italian sunshine, wine and melodies, Loco Ironico was born.
The brainchild of British singer-songwriter Joe Cang and Italian musician and composer Matteo Saggesse, the album
 ‘Carpe Afternoon” engineered by Jerry Boys (Buena Vista Social Club, Ali Farka Toure, Baaba Maal) features, amongst others, Roxy Music’s Phil Manzanera,Sarah Jane Morris( The Communards, Pere Ubu) Danny Cummings (Elton John, Mark Knopfler) and Steve Sidwell (Stevie Wonder, Todd Rundgren).

Songs of heartache, shipwreck and weight loss that draw on 
New Orleans jazz, Cuban tango and calypso.
 Think Dr John, Tom Waits, Randy Newman and Buena Vista.

After another two years of being asked what type of music they make, Loco Ironico now liken their sound to musical gumbo.
So with twelve new songs recorded live and undiluted, commenting on subjects from GMO crops to elusive future physical fitness, the title of their second album is…Mambo Gumbo!
Building on the critically acclaimed Carpe Afternoon - mixing sounds, styles and songs together into a slow-cooked sonic stew for your musical nourishment.
Recorded by Jerry Boys and graced by the talents of friends such as Phil Manzanera, Steve Sidwell, 
Tony Remy, James McMillan and Ben Castle - Mambo Gumbo is full of flavour and guaranteed to require at least a second helping.

Matteo and Joe have been writing, producing and performing together for over 20 years. Most recently, their super catchy “Make Love” was play-listed for 5 weeks on BBC Radio 2  (Graham Norton/Terry Wogan) with Chris Evans comparing it to the likes of Paolo Nutini and Amy Winehouse.
