As a standout and highly requested track in Maceo Plex sets over the last year, his Ellum Audio label finally releases Raxon's 'The Cage of Love,' an epic cover of trance classic 'Age of Love'. 

The original 'Age of Love' is a genre and era-defining tune. Despite its legendary status, Raxon is an artist who is more than up to the challenge of reinterpreting it for contemporary dance floors. The Egyptian-born, Barcelona-based artist is an underground mainstay with a fantastic album on Kompakt, top singles on Ellum Audio and Cocoon Recordings and gigs all over the world. He has teased this track at many of them, and it has never failed to light up the dance floor. 

'The Cage Of Love' has an all-new techno feel with a taught bassline and slapping drum funk. The lead synths are molten and futuristic, while the original's vocal adds the iconic hook. The track builds in layers, teasing and then pleasing when it finally drops as the dance floor explodes and the laser-like synths spray about the mix with a life of their own. 

The vinyl comes with extended and instrumental mixes, while digital downloads include the radio edit and extended mixes. 

This is a new high point for Raxon and a bona fide classic in the making from Ellum Audio.

Tronic’s next release is featuring label head’s Christian Smith’s second remix pack. The duties to remix “Mutate” are upon the groovy Kaiserdisco boys which have manage to create a funky version of the track, it will keep you moving. Sub bass, stomping drums and leading arpeggiated synth lines. The great Dosem is at it on the second remix. “Who You Are” is a banging, rolling, dance-heavy track with an 80’s synth long the way, pure excellence. The third piece of the EP is a rework of Christian’s track “Motor” from Dave Angel, this is the bass leading – 6 a.m monster piece of the pack, ace melodies, big synths and a sense of placidity.

Manchester-based duo, OC & Verde, were two of last year’s best upcoming British producers, generating genre-wide acclaim through notable releases like ‘Maasai’ – released on Knee Deep In Sound. Ben O’Connor and Jon Verde are back with this groovy 2-piece EP in Solstice/Horizon, released on VIVa MUSiC.

Manchester had quite the year in 2016, as the likes of Solardo, Kaluki Music and The Warehouse Project stimulated it’s raving scene, like three decades previous. OC & Verde are one of many rising artists deriving from the city, and the pair regularly played at the infamous soap factory, Sankeys, prior to its unforeseen closure.

‘Maasai’ catapulted the pair to unforeseen sights following the endorsement of Pete Tong who named the track his Essential New Tune. However, other notable productions can be found on Suara’s Kitties Wanna Dance (Volume 7) in ‘Vertigo’ plus remixes released on Bedrock Records, Selador and Glasgow Underground.

The future is bright for these two talented producers having gained support from Hot Since 82, Coyu, Richy Ahmed, Denney and Solstice/Horizon is the perfect start to another promising year for OC & Verde.

microCastle begins the summer season by welcoming Ivory to the label for his debut EP. Based in Milan, Daniel Tagliaferri aka Ivory is an Italian producer, DJ and guitarist who has enjoyed a rapid ascent through the electronic underground. Long a favourite of Ame, Dixon, John Digweed, Lehar, Nick Warren, Tale Of Us and Trikk, Daniel’s music has found a home on some of the world’s trendiest record labels, most notably Atlant Recordings, Azzur, Bedrock, Chapter 24, Isolate, MoBlack and Kompakt. Now following his critically acclaimed ‘Hyper’ EP, Ivory presents his microCastle debut ‘No Scale Can Resize You’.

Spread across five tracks, the 'No Scale Can Resize You’ collection is a blend of dance floor inspired storyboards and contemporary electronica. Beginning with the pulsating energy and buzzing design of the Tale Of Us championed title selection, to the quirky musicality and cosmic funk of ‘Biscuit’, it's Daniel’s' borderless scope and creative vision which resonates on a high frequency here.

Anchoring the EP’s midway point is the much anticipated ‘Pfauneinsel’. Already a favourite of Lehar, it’s a tough yet hypnotic piece driven by unique rhythmic concepts and a flair for the dramatic. Once again played by Tale Of Us and surrounded by much hype, it’s reflective qualities are both emotive and timeless, rounding out a collection of music which has already made its mark on the world’s most rebellious dance floors. "Music is always about storytelling, 'No Scale Resize You' is a collection of short stories where there's not words, they give way to melodies, sounds and percussive elements to sing a song full of grace, delicate groove hypnosis and evocative soundscapes. Every sound has been modeled to create a parallel universe, with magical creatures that speak to us through synths and sound design. Drawing this EP was like a flow of consciousness, many different musical influences converged like rivers to create a unique body of water, one that reflects the soul of these musical tales, dark atmospheres, middle-eastern melodies, robotic beats, dreamy pads, wistful strings and analogic arps; where every part is an element of the same wild land discovered during the listening.
