Four classically trained musicians exploring what drew them to music.

Justin Gonzalez: This band is a place where I can explore who I am. I'm trained as a classical vocalist. It wasn't Mozart or Placido Domingo that brought me to study music. I fell in love will pop, folk and Hispanic music as a young child. Those are my roots. That is what made me want to take that first step.

 Barry McCommon: LSR is a place for me to fill two different musical desires. 1)It is a chance to not just work with, but work closely and collaborate with Justin. The uke/vocals and bass trombone combination isn't one that you find, well, anywhere...so we created our own. 2)My love of music started while growing up in the 70s listening to pop, r&b/funk, and jazz of that period, with my ears gravitating to the low end--the bass. Having never become a bass player, I have still always had the pull to "play" bass in a musical melting pot. LSR allows me to do that.

 Celina Velez: I have always wanted to play my instrument just like I color, outside the lines with big, bold strokes! I don’t want to be defined by any one type of music because I find inspiration in so many genres. LSR takes the best of any style and mixes a little something special in it to make it spectacular. Get ready to be rocked… and to love every minute of it!

 Mike Iannuzzi: Locust Street Riot is a project which I am excited to be a part. The chance to play along side amazing and experienced musicians while creating new music as well as new takes and fresh sounds of popular music is something that all musicians look for. To be able to start my career, learning, growing with a group like LSR is something that I am very much looking forward to.
