Jungist is a Hong Kong born, Eora based DJ, producer and promoter at the helm of  the widely adored experimental arts platform @decayau here in Eora. Boosting the local scene but also plugging international sounds, the mix series has become a much loved addition to the community and a place for discovery and experimentation.

Jungist sets are about as diverse as they come. Their selections are dark, gritty, genre-blending with plenty of bounce, inspired by sound system culture and underground genres including but not limited to dubstep, glitch, leftfield techno, hard drums, footwork, jungle and bass. 

'' This mix was put together during intense hotel quarantine in Hong Kong and includes the fruits of a deep dive into early 2000s underground bass labels including DMZ and Hyperdub. The long intro demands focus attention as it releases into hypnotic rhythm and groove. In my practice I’ve grown to appreciate context and contrast when it comes to selection, with every transition I aim to see the mix as a whole continuous piece with personality and mood. ''

Germany's DJ bwin returns to First Second Label with a sub heavy offering of experimentational dubstep, bass, techno and trap for the dark smoke filled room in your brain. Moritz Paul aka Leibniz and Alex Hoppe aka CIO known for their label Hundert (alongside Felix Paul) have been pushing the boundaries of experimental bass, breaks, techno and dub and Cell Phone pushes their sound even further. Accompanied by a blissed out vibration filled remix from Berlin residing Cork born power house ELLLL this puts the icing on the cake for this already wobble heavy 12". The artwork, a combination of photography, paint and textiles is an extract from a cloth print by Irish artist and designer Shauna McGowan.
