I don't have the adequate poetry to describe the enigma that is C-Love but I can say that she was playing South African House records about 5 years before it was a thing and listening to her play 'Was Dog A Donut' at minus 20 BPM tripping balls on a floaty at the Sunset Campout was on of my all time fave DJ experiences. Next up on @idlecellars mix series we have a dear friend, legendary Dj, selector and producer @felix-dickinson blessing us with his unique style and effortless flow. Some sweet unknowns and a few lost classics thrown in, a perfect journey from start to finish.

Felix has been part of the UK's underground dance scene for the last 3 decades, learning his trade DJing at free parties and illegal raves and co-founding his first record label Ugly Music in the 90's. He's produced records for well renowned record labels worldwide including DFA, Rush Hour, Eskimo, Golf Channel, Claremont 56, Futureboogie and his own label Cynic.

He has secured slots at well known clubs and festivals across the globe, and the last few years have seen him receive a lot more attention due to his high profile residencies for Block 9 (Glastonbury) and Croatia’s Love International as well as regular appearances at Houghton, Gottwood, Thailand’s Wonderfruit festival and regular tours of Japan, the USA and beyond.

"The brief for this mix was something that you could listen to with a glass of wine in your hand as the sun goes down. It’s a pretty mellow early evening selection, something you can unwind to at the end of the day, but get’s a little more lively as the second and third glass goes down, so could just as easily be something to bung as you’re getting ready to go out."

@Skism & @Hendrik_Stein probably crossed paths at a smokey Party 15 years ago. Being socialized with all kinds of music and deeply shaped by clubbing in Berlin, both got pretty bored with the Minimal & Tech-House dictatorship of the late 00s.

Starting to upload their own mixes, they became online friends. While @Hendrik_Stein was exploring the roots of club music and got lost in the obscurest realms of Disco, @Skism had a long-time addiction with Kosmische, Ambient and German Psychedelics, filed under Krautrock.

Since both of them are busy bees in the music and media worlds, it took another 10 years until they finally shared the decks at the @pastforward show on Cashmere Radio. A while after, they received a very unusual donation by an anonymous patron - the obscurest part of an unused and well-aged record collection! @Skism is a music lover & record collector (also known as the Wasn-part of DJ duo @wasnundwunderwaffel) who loves music so much that he sometimes has a hard time just working. He believes that there’s no bad genre and no bad instrument, just bad music.
 
@Hendrik_Stein is equally deep into music, if not more. A DJ and record collector who's been around for a long time, playing in many places and running with @Menqui and @kryptic_dj, the Past Forward broadcast on Cashmere Radio. With his partner in music & life @frinda_di_lanco, they craft the Ciao Amore Baci Parties and @avec_plaisir_records label. 

In 2023, Stein crafted mixes for the H.A.N.D. series by @sound-metaphors, @eclectics28 in the UK, and the long-running @the-dream-chimney. 

With Avec Plaisir Records, he founded a platform to release hand-picked rarities, working with the likes of cosmic legend DJ Stefan Egger as well as digging private press record releases from the 1970s to 90s.
