A free-play improvised Bansuri album made with 3 or 4 layers of drones and accompaniements on the melody, exploring different moods and colours through ancient hindustani modes.

This is personal experiment for recording purpose, in no case this music is Hindustani Classical music, even if the inspiration from it is huge in many ways...
Here there is also many other influences; technnics, aesthetic and melodic patterns are many times really different from Hindustani classical.
I try here to adapt other imaginaries and feeling that i carry also, by using as a base the Hindustani raag theory, which is in my sense, an infinite well of melodies, geometries, poetries, possibilities...

This album is about Enjoyment, and what is beyond it...
Inspired by inner and outer Nature, speakable and unspeakable states of being... life initiation...

An instrumental drone record, with a special mix and cutting for winter Solstice; a new step is done and fire is burning the old... now its time to be snow-swallowed... and matured like a magic-tree which brooding beautiful salamanders, a gentle and inner fire...

This track is a remixed part from an improvization made with a fretless guitar, effects and looper in live condition (one take), soon in tape format (45min)...

C’est au terme de trois années d’enregistrements, de voyages et de concerts que DIVINE ANIMALS nous dévoile aujourd’hui ses creations rassemblées en douze titres enregistrés, mixés et masterisés entre l’Espagne, La France et les Etats-Unis.

Le projet Divine Animals s'est développé à la suite de la rencontre de la chanteuse Célinn Wadier avec le pianiste Marc-Eric Laine. 

Autour des chansons de Célinn se tisse peu à peu la toile d’un univers intimiste peuplé d'animaux totem, entre féerie de l’enfance et magie retrouvée.

Après s'être produit ensemble sur de grandes scènes internationales (New Morning, Baiser Salé, Union Chapell London Daylight Festival, World Peace Action Festival…) ils décident alors d’enregistrer l’album de ce répertoire en Espagne, à Ibiza.

Touchés par leur musique, le flûtiste Magic Malik, le trio de cordes Trio Zephyr ainsi que le violoniste Julien Moretto les rejoignent pour improviser et interpréter les arrangements de Marc-Eric qui emmèneront l’album vers un style minimaliste aux envolées symphoniques.

Le chant et les compositions de Célinn Wadier sont profondément imprégnés de ses voyages en Inde et de 6 années passées au conservatoire de Rotterdam. Ses nombreuses collaborations avec des producteurs et musiciens de tous horizons (Talvin Singh, Niraj Chag, Nicolas Genest, Marianne Svasek…) ont façonné un répertoire autour des esprits animaux, où se mêlent des influences allant de la pop au chant classique Indien en passant par le Jazz et la chanson française. Elle prépare actuellement son premier album solo “Le Jardin” à paraître au printemps 2016.
 
Marc-Eric Laine est un artiste multi facettes: pianiste, compositeur, arrangeur, parolier, producteur, directeur artistique, il travaille aujourd’hui dans la production de musique pour le cinéma, le documentaire, la danse, le théâtre et la chanson. 
Ses arrangements et compositions pour Divine Animals s’intègrent avec douceur à l’univers de Celinn Wadier tout en y apportant un jeu pianistique impressionniste aux accents blues et jazz.
