This is my version of "Dire Dire Docks" from Mario 64, featuring Jared McEntire on bass guitar.
"Dire Dire Docks" is one of my favorite compositions from a video game and I'm so pumped that Jar joined me on bass and absolutely crushed it!
Technically, this is "sprites volume 1". I hope to release a "Volume 2" with even more track next year.
I have so many fond memories of Mario 64. My mom woke up in the extremely early hours of 1996, and waited on line outside of Kmart to completely surprise me for Christmas.
I didn't grow up wealthy, so it was incredible that my parents made it happen. My mom later told me that she saw my face light up when the Mario 64 commercial came on and she couldn't help herself.
Aside from the year that I received my first instrument, this is one of my fondest memories of Christmas and of the sacrifices my parents made to make my brother and I so happy.
