Italian producer and DJ Mart!x unleashes minimal and sludgy half-tempo dubstep with “Climb To Victory,” her first release on DoYu Digital. Classical instrumentation and samples of birds chirping create a sense of tranquility at the onset of the track. The drop then completely transforms this serene atmosphere into a slow, methodical onslaught of pulsing bass, deep kicks and crisp snares. These contrasting phrases and use of off-kilter samples throughout the track highlight the unique flair Mart!x has been honing since debuting on SoundCloud two years ago. With “Climb To Victory” in their catalogue, DoYu has once again demonstrated their reach by crossing hemispheres to find bass music that stands in its own lane.
