"In this 45-minute session, Shivani explores 2 Indian classical ragas chosen to evoke deep calm and meditation. Listeners are invited to immerse themselves in the subtle shrutis (microtones) of raga music, where each phrase unfolds with improvisation, spacious pacing, and emotional depth. Layered with frequencies and tanpura (drone) soundscapes, Shivani explores the melodic contours of open spaces in classical music that bring about stillness, reflection, and release. This session is a meditative offering, weaving healing vibrations and contemporary textures into a shared ritual of sound."

Shivani Sen is an Indian classical vocalist, songwriter, composer, and author whose music blends the timeless beauty of raga with electronic, indie, and ambient influences, creating music that is both grounding and expansive. Having performed widely across New Delhi and London at venues like the Indian High Commission, Southbank Centre, Sofar London and SOAS University and festivals like Lowlands and All Points East, Shivani’s music has been reviewed and featured on platforms such as  NTS Radio and BBC Introducing, where she was named Artist of the Week.

‘For home use only’ is an anti-club social, a chance to get to know someone/something. A series of transmissions purely dedicated to exploring the other side.

Somewhere between movement and stillness, a quiet world begins to reveal itself.
The elocutionist for this foray into the further reaches of the forest is none other than Eora-based Suzu. A planet-hopping, head-softening exploration of inner and outer space — a celestial mirror of sorts, an extra breath between breaths.
Recorded live during a yoga session, this mix embodies calmness in its purest form. Ambient currents drift and pool gently, the literal sound of dappled sunlight filtering through the trees and settling on the forest floor. Nothing rushes, nothing demands — it simply is.

My contribution to @canyon-vibration 2025.

An invocation of peace and catharsis. A moment of reverence to honor the land just after the first sundown of the festival. This is a love letter to the heavy feeling that comes with carrying oneself through the world these days. I spent months crying along to these pieces while commuting, digging through records all over the city, carefully seeking tracks with overlap in narrative in sound and title, experimenting with orchestration of vinyl and tape.

A special thank you to my friend Grace Adameic, whose guided meditation was unfortunately not captured in this recording, but in the moment couldn't have been more perfect.

Thank you also to the indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest, whose words and music are featured heavily throughout this mix. Thank you to the organic wisdom of our animal family, specifically the birds and orcas whose songs tie this all together.

If my heart could sing, if my soul could offer yours a salve, this is what it would sound like.
