A few years ago I was fiddling around on my piano. For whatever reason, I plucked out the melody from "The Star Spangled Banner." And, I thought to myself, "I wonder what this would sound like with a funny and scary Russian spin on it?"  Now, years later - with nothing better to do during my spare COVID quarantine time - I finally created this pet project joke I've had in the back of my head.

Amerussia - The New Global Anthem - By Jeff Cuno

A cue from my recent film scoring project "7 Minutes in Hell", and fantastic indie horror short film by my friend Shane Spiegel. 

This music plays as the scary lady in the image emerges from a dark corner, slowly coming to stand face to face with our heroine (pictured on the right). After an uncomfortable stare down, the heroine flees upstairs to try to find refuge in a second story bathroom.

I got to channel my inner John Cage and Bernard Herrmann for this one! All the sounds you hear are acoustic, coming from my out of tune piano. Duck tape, drink coasters, and screws were added to the strings of the piano to get the zanier sounds you hear.
