On the heels of a summer tour of the U.S. with Big Dipper and Conquistador, Portland Indie musician Logan Lynn has just released an epic cover of "We Can't Stop" (by Miley Cyrus) that is going to blow your mind.  

Produced by Gino Mari, who also produced Lynn's 2012 release "Tramp Stamps and Birthmarks", the "We Can't Stop" cover features Lynn with a completely organic instrumentation unlike anything else he has recorded to date.  "I thought what Miley did on the VMAs was hilarious," Lynn said, "I mean...Robin Thicke is a misogynistic pig, but that's not Miley's fault.  She's just young and awkward and having fun.  I would have totally Twerked on him and everyone else in my way at her age.  Going nuts and telling authority figures to go screw themselves is part of growing up.  Also, where do I get one of those giant foam fingers she had for that performance?  Is that a sports thing?"

According to Lynn, this cover (and his latest single, "Everything You Touch Turns To Gold", released 8/13) are a glimpse into the new direction he and his collaborators are headed sonically.  "I have to keep changing things up or I get bored.  This round I've put down the dance music a little and Gino has been playing all kinds of instruments instead.  It's been turning out really warm and special so far as a result.  I figured this cold, dead pop song was the perfect thing to try and bring to life.  I actually like Miley's version, too...but it's not particularly warm."  Lynn and Mari are currently back in the studio writing and recording what will be Lynn's 8th studio album.

Feed Me To The Wolves

Breaking from his usual process, Logan Lynn wrote 19 new songs for "My Movie Star" by himself on the Steinway piano in his living room, then narrowed the tracklist down to 10 for the release. Unlike any of his previous work over the past 20 years, all of these tracks began with Lynn streaming his initial writing sessions live for his followers on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube from his loft in Portland, Oregon.

He then took those Steinway Sessions live recordings offline and sent countless clips to co-Producer Jay Mohr for feedback and direction. This back-and-forth process — which mainly consisted of Jay telling Logan to quiet down and pushing him to be braver and more exposed — went on for most of 2016 while Lynn was on the road promoting his last release, ADIEU. 

From there, Logan invited Portland-based piano genius (and T-Pain muse) GLASYS to come on board to build out the key parts and a few months later they locked themselves in The Hallowed Halls with Justin Phelps (Amanda Palmer, Dresden Dolls, Dead Kennedys) and Mike Blackburn (The Wild War, Scars on 45, Dungen) until My Movie Star was complete. Lynn credits Jay Mohr, who is also a writer on 2 of the songs, for inspiring the album as a whole.

My Movie Star will be released on October 12th, 2018 as a 2-disc set, alongside an album of all the songs reimagined by The Dandy Warhols, Tiffany (“I Think We’re Alone Now”), Jarryd James, Rian Lewis (Gorillaz, Chromeo), DoublePlusGood, Stose and many more of Logan’s favorite bands, artists and musical heroes. The release will be supported by a short film of the same name, 3 new music videos, as well as a double header tour alongside Jay Mohr and GLASYS in the works.

Logan Lynn is a songwriter and producer who Billboard writes “has made a career out of crafting catchy, disorderly songs that almost all include big beats, fun melodies and cheeky lyrics”.

The former host of NewNowNext Music on MTV’s Logo Network, he has collaborated with 80s pop star Tiffany, 90s alt-rock legends The Dandy Warhols, and dozens of others. Lynn’s songs have appeared in international advertising campaigns by CoverGirl Cosmetics, Oscar de la Renta, Nicole Miller, Volkswagen and more.

Upon soundtracking songs for the Netflix series EastSiders during its final season, he signed to Kill Rock Stars in 2020 and released an album titled New Money on the label in 2022. He then collaborated with production duo Yellow Trash Can (ILoveMakonnen, Nova) and released a 5-song EP and short film, titled “Distracted”, on KRS in summer of 2023.

Lynn released his 11th studio album, SOFTCORE, on Kill Rock Stars on June 7th, 2024 alongside a short film by the same name. In September of that same year, KRS released a 30 song deluxe edition of the record which features 19 new tracks. The HARDCORE sister record includes collaborations with FAWN (Glass Candy, Chromatics), Desolation Horse, Melissa Ferrick, Glitterfox, Kyle Andrews, and dozens of others.

In 2025, after appearing on the soundtrack for “Unconventional” on Revry TV, Lynn announced he was working on new music.
