Mollie Collins and Browncoat deliver two diverse remixes of gardenstate & GVN’s ’Take Me There’.

Hailing from Kent, England, Mollie Collins broke onto the D&B scene in 2015. She’s released on heavyweight D&B label UKF and runs her own imprint Right Good Records. Her music has been supported by the likes of Hybrid Minds, Carly Wilford, Charlie Tee, Grafix, Mistajam and Jeremiah Asiamah on BBC R1 Soundsystem. As well as her production endeavours, Mollie has recorded live sets for Mixmag, Boiler Room and BBC Radio 1, and recently completed a run of shows in New Zealand.

Mumbai-based producer Nawed Khan, aka Browncoat, is a well-known DJ and producer within India’s vibrant club scene. His catalogue includes releases with Odd One Out, Inner Symphony, Poker Flat Recordings, Click Records and his own label, Submerge Music. Recently he has played shows for Awakenings, VH1 Supersonic and our sister label Anjunadeep, sharing the stage with the likes of Disclosure, Lane 8, Yotto and Luttrell.

Mollie and Nawed have both remixed gardenstate & GVN’s ‘Take Me There’, the 700th Anjunabeats release.

gardenstate’s debut album ‘Inspirations’ was released on Anjunabeats in October 2021, following a string of well-received singles and a raved-up take on Above & Beyond and Zoë Johnston’s ‘No One On Earth’. They recently joined Above & Beyond in London for their Group Therapy 450 celebrations, and supported A&B on the Anjunafamily Reunion Tour across the U.S.A. in late 2021.

An alumnus of our Anjunabeats Rising series, Liverpool-based producer GVN is a star in the making: he’s collaborated with Third Party, released on Martin Garrix’s label and has been supported by BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong and Danny Howard. He’s released two EPs on Anjunabeats, with more music arriving on the label this year. GVN will also be joining us at our upcoming London show at Night Tales on January 21, 2021.

Argy drops the third, and final, part of his ‘Interior Journey Remixes’… It may be often said, but when it comes to Argy ‘saving the best till last’ is most certainly true. After a monster year that saw him release the critically-acclaimed ‘Interior Journey’ album, which included the breakout single ‘Ketuvim’, the mercurial producer now brings the project to a fitting finale with a full release dedicated to the club smash.

As with all the ‘Interior Journey’ remixes to date, the EP has been a process of careful A&R consideration as Argy explains, “We thought long and hard about who to invite on this EP. It was important we didn’t have a collection of remixes that were variations on the same theme, so I’m absolutely delighted with the results; we’ve ended-up with incredible reworks that cover that essential trinity of MH&T, Indie and Electronica.”

And what a trinity it is!

Ae:ther proves why he’s one of the most exciting prospects in melodic techno with a remix that deftly weaves peak time power with melodic beauty. “Argy and I were in close contact throughout the production,” he explains, “unlike other remixes, the creative process came together very quickly; I immediately realised I wanted to create a ‘crescendo’ track. I had real fun re-imagining the deeper roots of the renowned original into something more melodic and cosmic, which is exactly what he wanted.”

A lot of musical roads lead to Israel for Renaissance in 2021, but could there be a new geographic trend in the offering? Whilst having always been passionate about their clubbing, there’s an undoubted movement coming out of Eastern Europe, more and more seem to be converting their dancefloor enthusiasm into production technique, which is underscored with the label’s first release of 2022.

Arude & Sincz sees the pairing of two of Poland’s most respected producers; their collective CV includes Steyoyoke, Dear Deer, Desert Hearts, Suprematic and more. With the ‘Sleepless Nights EP’, alongside Israel’s (there it is yet again!) renowned vocalist SANDHAUS, they kick-start 2022 with their most ambitious project to date, although its path to Renaissance was not an easy one. “‘Sleepless Nights’ began life with an entirely different vocal,” they honestly explain, “But there was something not quite right, it just didn’t click. We knew SANDHAUS through Jonas Saalbach’s Radikon, so asked him to write and record something to go with the instrumental.”

“When the guys came to me I was suffering from a period of insane insomnia,” continues SANDHAUS, “So I used it as a form of inspiration. The song is about using those waking moments in the darker hours creatively, whilst craving that which you cannot obtain.”

Stylistically, the original is an innovative hybrid, fusing SANDHAUS’ XX-like vocals with Arude & Sincz powerful production that deftly walks the line between indie and melodic techno. In order to broaden its deserved appeal, the guys hit upon inviting Berlin’s Namito to remix the track in his deeper, organic-tinged vibe.

“I only do remixes of tracks that I feel and when I heard the original for the first time, I knew I wanted to do it. There’s something special in the vocals by SANDHAUS that are a gift for any remixer and I am very happy with the result.” - Namito

Not content to leave things there Arude & Sincz round the package out with two other peak-time throbbers - ‘Tartarus’ and ‘Become Immortal And Then Die’. EPs really don’t come much bigger than this.
