Ultra excited to welcome Ithaca NY’s @otodojo to CJAM FM this week! As a well versed DJ, producer, and visual designer, otodojo has put in time to curate a number of productions for the well-loved label @acidcamp, as well as his own project @microtones-ith back at home. 

With his forward-thinking approach keeping each piece he creates fresh and exciting, otodojo delivers a mix with lighter-than-air electro and leftfield techno numbers that hit just right as we move onto warmer days.

AM: What have ya been doing recently?

I worked on two different live shows ; an experimental quadraphonic
( I played it one week ago for the first time ), and an audio/visual with an artist using deep learning, I’m super excited about it ! 
And I continue to take time to watch my plants growing!
And to observe my thoughts.

AM: Where and how did you record the mix & was there an idea behind it? 

I recorded the mix : 60% in my bed, 20% on the deck, 20% in a fast train.
I was inspired by your name «  Accidental Meetings », it speaks to me... 


AM: What have you been listening to recently? Which artists are grabbing ya attention 

The new Koreless is sublime…


AM: We’re such big fans of your releases so far :), from your incredible LP to the mixed bag of wonderful old tracks you self released last year, what’s ya studio set up & has it changed over the years? 

Oh thanks, I'm glad to hear that ! :)
For about one year my setup changed a lot ; new synths ( including the Virus B, and the GR1 ) , new pedals ( I think this is what I prefer to play with ) , a new drum machine ( the Yamaha RY30 ) .
I try to create with the same set up to give to my next music a common color ! 


AM: Whats next for ya in 2021? 

Now that the earth is spinning again, I’m going to play.

Marlais is the stage name of Michael Culme-Seymour, who has been living and working in Berlin since 2011. “Warm at Last” his debut full length album released in 2016, hosted traditional ballads and songs from Britain and Ireland, sung to experimental electronic arrangements. His latest single "Meeting Is A Pleasure" was released on Treibender Teppich Records in September 2020. He co-hosted the show "We Just Met" on Berlin Community Radio with Phil Smith for 4 years and went on to host it alone for another 2 before the station shut down.
