They eyed them up from the other side of the room, looking down their noses at them and silently judging. There was a clear divide between these two groups, motivated by an unfounded idea of superiority; but one was no better than the other. It was clear that one side had no interest in getting to know the other, they'd already categorised them and labelled them as unworthy of their attention and there was little that could change their mind. 

Play Pal are back with another instalment of their Pals VA series, their seventh to be exact. Centred around hypnotic, guitar-infused wave and moody raw electronics, this new outing features music from artists based all over the world. There's collaborations from label head Teniente Castillo alongside Amarcord, Play Pal affiliates Mike Sacchetti and Ivan De La Rouch, and Belly Dance Services boss Nick Hanzo with A-Tweed, rounded off with solo contributions from Javier Ferreira, Ulises Arrieta and Sylphomatic, all making for another package of dystopian delights from the Madrid-based label.

Born and raised in Caserta, close to the neapolitan coast, Antonio Miele lands on Raibano Records with a two track ep called The Magic Island.
The neapolitan spirit vibing through the two tracks "The Magic Island" and "Wash Your Spirit", two nuggets packed that goes from italo to house, from balearic two acid showing Antonio's authentic taste for music.

Perdí La Luz is the project of Alfredo Lazaro from Washington. HIs sound combines the raw energy of techno, post punk and EBM, influenced by early 80s electronic pioneers such as DAF, Front 242 and Liaisons Dangereuses. With previous releases on Unknown To The Unknown’s Soft Computing, Plains Archaic and Heist Mode, he makes his Death Decay Magic debut with Cruel Fate, a four song EP with remixes by Jennifer Touch and Black Light Smoke.

This project takes as inspiration the concept of time travel, in the sense of living a transporting, intense and unique experience; since what the artist tries to transmit through his tracks and presentations is the possibility of experiencing a journey to the deepest part of your being, to that place where everything exists and everything is possible.

With well-received previous appearances on respected outlets such as Espacio Cielo, Emerald & Doreen, Quixotical, Bonkers, and Ninefont, Madrid-based producer Stylic makes his debut on the super cool label Paisley Dark – managed by our dear John Paynter (SXDNS123) – with another incursion into the dark realm: The "PoPoPoPom" EP (yeah, we also loved the name) delivers three well-constructed originals and adds another interesting layer of colours on the growing sound kaleidoscope of the British platform.

With a “hypnotic slow-mo, Weatherall-esque" bearing, the release reminds us that there are other kinds of bangers and peak-time beasts in times of (extremely) fast-paced bangers and peak-time beasts. Ranging from 097 to 111 BPM, the message here is to lose yourself to dance and savour the moment… but not so fast.

Premiered here, “Like This” is an immersive dive into the deliciousness of the downtempo world. Pure bliss triggered by trippy distorted leads, groovy vocal stabs/hooks, siren-like riffs, and percussive elements, resulting in an intricate and shake-your-booty-but-in-slow-motion masterpiece.
