Matthew Bushwacka! aka. Just Be is rightly regarded as one of the most prolific producers in electronic music, due to his pioneering work as one half of Layo & Bushwacka! and more recently for his solo productions which have graced labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Get Physical and Intec Digital

On the ‘Growler EP’ he makes his highly-anticipated debut on MOOD Records with  two distinctive and deadly original productions which are complimented by a wickedly deep remix by Detroit luminary Stacey Pullen 

Growler’ kicks off the EP and lives up to it’s name with growling rough bass and a teasingly hypnotic groove accompanied by swirling melodies which appear late in the track. Next up is ‘The French Connection’ which follows in a similar vein and features swirling distorted sounds, strong percussion and deep rumbling bass.

As would be expected from an artist who has been there from the very beginning and has released on such esteemed labels as Fabric, K7!, Cadenza and 2020 Vision, then Stacey Pullen’s remix of ‘Growler’ does not disappoint; taking it deeper and adding extra melodic flourishes while still retaining that bass-heavy edge.

On the ‘Growler EP’ Just Be and Stacey Pullen live up to their reputations as two of the finest producers around, both delivering fantastically deep journeys through expertly crafted underground sounds.

Sydney trailblazer Basenji unleashes his first official remix, offering a new twist on the second single, Foolin’ from best coast beat-creature Sable.
 
On Foolin’, Basenji flips the hyperactive bounce of the original into a more chilled affair, holding tight to the 1am groove.  The remix bumps in all the right places, and is out now for FREE through fresh-faced, Perth-based label Pilerats Records.

Sharing tracks (and animal based namesakes) before anybody really knew who they were, both producers have torn up the JJJ charts, and jetted all over the island paradise we call home, consistently blowing the minds of club kids along all four corners.

Perth-based computer music wizard, Sable only crawled out of his forest studio a few short months ago, but has already torn up the triple j charts with the infectious single Feels So Good. 

Fresh off of his 5-track debut EP released earlier this month and with a string of national tour dates under his belt, Sable has also been announced as the only WA act on the Splendour In The Grass line-up.

This special 12‘‘ release gathers 4 of the highlights from the label‘s catalogue so far. 

First up to the controls is NYC new kid of the block MANIK. He gives us ‚Pure Liquid‘ in a freaked out wild-pitch affair 2011 style! His fresh production and new ideas give this a real modern feel, while the arrangement and raw drums keep it heavy for the club.

Daryl Stay‘s ‚My Groove‘ gets the Vincenzo treatment in this classic-vibed killer. Tough, pumping drums open alongside a soaring synth layer that builds into a rave siren of monstrous proportions!!
Jay Tripwire presents his ‚8 Channels‘ project with ‚Control‘. Its a deliciously stripped piece of future house. Bouncing, shaking and snaking, the freaked out vocal stands out loud and proud in this addictive number.

Finally the veteran skills of Russ Gabriel bring a twisted modern acid jam to the table with ‚Prey Tell‘. Sneaky, typically freaky synth lines intertwine amongst jackin drums and subtly building arrangements!

The Pact

After his critically acclaimed debut "Purple Cwtch E.P." dropped on Terrorhythm in 2013, GANZ has been on somewhat of a global takeover mission. Having released a slurry of his trademark "Flips" of other people's tracks, remixing acts such as Whatsonot and Flume x Hermitude which skyrocketed him into the global bass music stratosphere, GANZ felt the time was right to start putting together some original music, and we are very proud to be releasing his Dino War E.P. on Terrorhythm.  The E.P. is a three tracker, much like his initial outing with the label. Opening with New Era, GANZ invites you to sit down and take on board what is about to unfold in front of your ears. A summery number ensues, fluttering and bright with some beautiful synth and piano tones. What comes after it is a high energy bass music onslaught, reminding us just what we've missed in his absence.  Dino War is unrelenting. It twists and turns through the intro before exploding into a technicolour attack on the senses. Heavy and bright, it is something we'll all be drawing for in our moment of need for many many sets to come.  Closing out the E.P. is "Trophies" which helps to calm us down just a tad after the rigorous work out we received from Dino War. It's like a warm down - hard enough to keep us moving, but more relaxed than it's predecessor on the E.P. A fitting end track to a triumph of a release from GANZ.  We're really excited to be bringing this to you all and hope you enjoy the music as much as we do here at the label.

Hold up. The new one from Jets is a frantic and wildly-energetic track that whips back and forth with footwork-esque tendencies.

It uses glitzy riffs and beautifully distorted vocals to take you to a dreamstate. It's pretty mad but then again we wouldn't expect anything else from the two.

London's Mark Henning has risen up as one of the underground's true players - recording for a volley of international house & techno labels.

With an ever increasing following over the years, Mark has established himself as a consistent producer of quality underground house and techno having released music on well-regarded labels such as Soma, Hypercolour, Poker Flat, Freude am Tanzen and more recently his own imprint Swing. His sound sits somewhere between house and techno, with a healthy dose of darkness, swing and funk.

Mark has proven himself as a versatile DJ, being equally comfortable playing deep morning sets as well as peak time slots. He has performed all over the world at clubs such as Fabric, Panorama Bar, Watergate, Rex, Space, Lux and The Arches to name just a few, as well as the festivals T In The Park, Rockness, BPM, Fusion, Portugal’s BOOM and Free Rotation.

Next up for Mark is a re-issue of two of his most famous bassline-heavy tracks to date - Trojan and Sin City plus a new Juno bass inspired slab of techno funk. 'Bang Bang,' which we premiere today.

Strip Steve - "This track was actually started 2 years ago when I was on tour going through NYC. Jr and I were in touch about working on some music and one day before he pick me up at the New Jersey station close to his studio I went record shopping, met Kenny Dope by chance and found a Black Male record lost in the cheap $ crates. I was so happy because I was a huge Romanthony fan but didn't actually know that specific record (a lot of Black Male recordings are hard to come by, even on YouTube).
I showed it to Jr and he was surprised that someone from my generation would be so excited to find this kind of stuff. Later in the studio we decided to make a "cross generation" track influenced by the style of Roman's typical preacher house records. We both had a lot of stuff going on and a busy few months ahead but after Roman's death we got back in touch again and decided we should finish it as a tribute to him... 4 ROMAN!"

Junior Sanchez - "This was a track that we started almost 2 years ago at my studio in NJ, with every intention of finishing it.. But our schedule got the best of us, and it sat for a while. Theo and I kept in touch and constantly talk and share music. When the unfortunate sudden death of Romathony came to light i was in the middle of a gig and was completely heartbroken. Coming back to my studio i listened to some old Romanthony records and I remembered the track that I’d been working on with Theo. I brought up the session, tweaked some things, spoke to him via ichat. and asked about us doing this in Roman's memory. He was super down.. I sent Theo all the stems Via Dropbox, he mixed it in his studio added some finishing touches and here we are! 4 ROMAN!! Respect Jr."
