The Tale Of The (Unkillable) Ratking - Snapshots #7

Returning to Intrepid Skin after her brilliant debut EP, and following on from a string of acclaimed releases since then, Berlin-based producer, DJ, and label owner Valerie Ace presents four new cuts of powerful hard dance and techno. Strass & Stress is out 1st March as both vinyl and digital.

With a background in organising DIY raves and a commitment to community-led efforts in electronic music, Valerie carefully fuses references from a range of genres into a singular, contemporary take on techno. Guided by an instinctive ear for experimental, groove-driven frameworks, her strain of dance music is hard-edged but mischievous, playful but heartfelt.

Diving straight into the peak hours, opening track ‘Taking a Risk’ is a swirl of hard kicks, frantic alarms and distorted leads; a statement of intent for what is to follow. Hot on its heels is the aptly-titled ‘Slay’- a marching roller with double drops of acid, warped sonics and echoing glitches. Plunging into a hazier zone, ‘Anxious not Afraid’ takes an intoxicated spin on psytrance, building a vast acoustic space with equal parts tension and release. Closing off the EP, ‘How To Fit In’ jumps back onto the floor with an unrelenting spiral of industrial-leaning hard drum chaos.

They are not filling a vessel. They are the water itself - the flow, the shape, the essence. The meaning lies not at the end, but in every step of the journey through this virtual landscape.
The Syndicate is that experience - a movement not driven by final destinations but by the authenticity of each production and the depth of each sound. In a world overwhelmed by noise and distraction, these artists choose precision and intention. They step aside and let the spirit of techno speak through the digital void.

This is how the Syndicate works, and this is how each track exists. Difficult to understand as a whole. Easy to understand individually. But history and the past show the destiny of each member who keeps techno alive in this virtual realm.

The Syndicate is not just a series. It is an order, a devotion, and perhaps a moving meditation inviting the listener to go deeper, to reflect, and to get lost in sound.

Natural de São Paulo, o DJ e produtor de 25 anos carrega uma relação visceral com a música eletrônica desde a infância, quando descobriu o hardstyle — gênero que despertou sua fascinação por batidas intensas e atmosferas pulsantes. Essa paixão inicial moldou sua identidade musical, que hoje se desdobra em um estilo eclético, transitando entre Hardtechno, Hardgroove e Hardance, sempre com uma pegada energética e visceral que reflete sua conexão com as pistas de dança.

Sua jornada como criador começou em 2022, quando mergulhou nos estudos de produção musical, buscando traduzir em sons a essência caótica e hipnótica que tanto o inspirava em festivais e eventos underground.

Sua primeira estreia ocorreu na festa "Berlim" ocorrida no icônico "Bunker 741", a primeira festa que teve destaque no estabelecimento, tendo a função de warmup da pista, dividindo o line com grandes nomes da cena underground.

Seu primeiro destaque em um line foi na "LovHard" tocando Hard Techno, onde juntou diferentes públicos em uma só festa!
