The name of my whole project is called @Libitum, Logo and further details will follow eventually. This trilogical project consists of Suspension Zone (SuZ), Emulsion Zone (EmZ), and Dispersion Zone (DiZ). Dispersion Zone is still in production. Suspension Zone has already been published. This track came alive through a moment of exploring west-african desert blues guitar combined with producing an abstract, pulsing world beat while pondering life in the garden of my home in Berlin. Months later, while traveling through the sacred valley of Peru on a journey with cactus medicine, my brother Dawid passed me samples of a recording of the Mwami tribe (meaning King Shepherd) and royal drums from Rwanda whose cultural music and identity has disappeared since the republic was formed in 1961. These samples I have mixed with my production and guitar playing to give it an otherworldly feel. I believe in the idea of carrying cultural heritage through the medium of sound and production thus giving new life to ancient tradition and merging the old with a new artistic vision.
