Katran is the main solo project of Darko Kolar, who is also one half of the Ontal (alongside with Boris Brenecki), and he is also part of Impuls Controls (a project of Ontal and Blush Response). 
Darko Kolar is also the founder of Jezgro label and Ontal Series.

Darko's residence is up on the north of Serbia in the city of Subotica. His musical career started in 2005. under Dekode moniker. He passionately started to collect records and slowly to produce music. Soon enough hi started to release music on different labels alongside with the names such as Si Begg, 
Radioactiveman, Sillicon Scally, Scape One and more. Even until today he plays some of that old electro, breakbeat, IDM stuff  that may be forgotten. 

The year of 2011. was one of the most important years in his musical career. Ever since forming Ontal his musical career advanced. With Ontal being recognized amongst leading industrial techno/experimental names on the world scene, Darko has developed a new way of expressing himself through Katran project. He puts all of his creative force and energy into his music, so the stuff that he creates as Katran is dark, rough and intensive, always in a constant change.

In 2016 Darko launched a label called Jezgro. The first release was by MRTVI, on of the Huren's pseudonym and with additional remix by Violet Poison. The second release came out in 2017, created by the master of noise music - Merzbow. The main focus of the label is to represent more obscure, dark and unstructured parts of the electronic music. Crucial aesthetical core of the label are genres such as 
harsh noise, industrial techno, drone, off beat techno, rhythmic noise, ambiental and similar styles.

2022 has arrived and our Signals series is back. Happy new year! The first mix of the year lands courtesy of Glasgow based DJ, Producer and Label Head, Gavelman.

Gavelman had a busy 2021. His highly reputable label, Lifeforms, seen 4 releases. Included in these 4 were 2 of his own works. A single and Public House favourite, Lady Justice, and a Dutch inspired 6 track Electro slammer, Future.

The other 2 releases came from Electro staple Ekman - a harsh and hard hitting drum machine workout - and Variant, dipping into fast paced experimental techno. 2021's output showed us how exciting and varied this label is, joining the dots between different soundscapes and genres, all the while keeping rawness and experimentalism as core elements between releases. Both Gavelman and Lifeforms have some serious output in the works for 2022.

As far as DJ'ing goes, we'll let this mix do the talking. Gavelman has described this as a 'legends mix'. An hour of artists and music he holds dear. Think Electro, The Hague and punked out drum machines. Seriously good stuff.

Philipp Strobel is an event promoter, DJ and founder of Berlin based record label aufnahme + wiedergabe.

Since the labels inception in 2011, he has curated almost 200 physical and digital releases ranging from Post Punk and Dark Wave through Industrial Techno, establishing aufnahme + wiedergabe as one of the most successful and pioneering record labels of Europes underground scene.

In addition to his work as label head, Philipp regularly promotes local shows and club nights in Berlin, and frequently tours as a DJ, under the name Philipp Strobel, his strength as label head and long time curator remaining evident in his eclectic, unique and ever changing sets.

When we decided to celebrate our 25th anniversary in Paris together with our French friends of Au-delà du Silence we thought about something special for the event and we came up with the idea of a 2CD for the festival - one CD with unreleased tracks by all performing artists and one CD with some kind of mix. One person came straight into our minds: the infamous DJ Philipp Strobel from Berlin would be a perfect match of doing a special mix for our 25YLOKI compilation. We asked him if he could imagine something like this project and he jumped in, packed his record bag full of LOKI & PAS releases and worked on the mix to celebrate the LOKI label history. Another episode of Club Extremities will spawn tonight. Last time I transmitted the two hour set recorded at Dekmantel Selectors in Tisno, Croatia. I was also asked to do a shorter set on the Intergalactic FM boat party on which I shared the booth with Identified Patient, Pasiphae and Intergalactic Gary. I thoroughly prepared a highly eclectic uptempo set filled with postpunk/techno/electro/acidtekno especially for this occasion but unfortunately the crowd was jumping too hard for the record players to hold a groove and I ended up playing each record seperately since mixing was impossible. The crowd didn't mind though and I had a lot of fun despite (or because of) the chaos erupting there and I thought this selection needed a proper recording so I went ahead and re-recorded the whole thing.

Club Extremities #18 Dekmantel Selectors IFM Boat

LOKI-FOUND is a pioneering independent German record label, founded in the Ore Mountains of South Germany in 1991, notable for discovering some of the more enduring artists in drone tunes and deep ambient music.

In 1998, the label moved its operation to Leipzig along with its studio Light Channel, physical music & merchandise online store Deep-Audio.

LOKI-FOUND and the sub-label PAS went on to release a series of experimental electronic music releases by artists such as INADE, HERBST9, BAD SECTOR, S.E.T.I., BLOOD BOX, LAND:FIRE, FIR§T LAW, FJERNLYS, ANTLERS MULM, CIRCULAR, PREDOMINANCE and many more.

Since early 2000 to now LOKI-FOUND is curating the concert series Sonic Lodge at Leipzig’s Gallery Of Contemporary Arts and the infamous club Die Nato.

LOKI-FOUND showcases were celebrated around the world from Paris to New York and from Moscow to Zurich.
