Carte Blanche to the Brussels-based artist Antonin de Bemels, presenting the promising “CAVE” by La fin des pseudonymes, to be released at the end of the week on Thin Consolation. One hour of experimental grooves, percussive sounds, and an echo chamber of krautrock to reach another world of purple twilight, iridescent arbours, and undying roses. The sounds create an atmosphere of their own, filling out an expanse of landscapes, whilst one of the previous sounds slowly morphs whilst remaining in shape. With each invocation, audiences are summoned to witness the melodic and the percussive constantly argue, in search of new paths to tread. The result is storylike and abstract. Sometimes it soars. ”This mixtape is inspired by reading and learning on and about pomegranates, a personal fetish of mine and a fruit that has had a special place in many cultures and religions. The tittle is a twist on Sergei Parajanov’s beautiful classic “The color of pomegranates”. 

It was recorded between Malmö and Stockholm and it features music from  7FO, Audrey Carmes, Baba Stiltz, Carme Lopez, Clan Caiman, Felisha Ledesma, Gaussian Curve, Golden Ivy, Joanna Brouk, Lieven Martens, Martina Berther, Memotone, MJ Guider, Ssabae, Tapes, Valentina Magaletti.” — Gaspee

about the Lable M SQUARED for the Attic Magazine, Romania.

"M Squared is a pure DIYrecord lable which was run from a small recording studio in Sydney, Australia between 1979 and 1984, founded by Mitch Jones and Michael Tee. 
Together with a small group of diversly talented  friends, they gathered in the Wilshire Street, close to the studio of Doublethink records, to start their own project and go to war against the big record companies, with their ideas of "Oz Rock".
Through the following time great artists like Shane Fahey joined with an armful of cassettes of wonderful tunes that waited for their release and formed new projects like 'The Makers of the Dead Travel Fast'.
After some starting problems, they easily made it from a 4-track to an equiped studio, from cassettes to 12" records. The live appearances by Systematics and The Makers of the Dead Travel Fast over the summer 1981 started the fascinating challenge of trying to win over Australian pub audiences with M Squared's versions of "rock" music. Michael Tee started talking to promoters and venue owners and convincing them that an M Squared night was conducive to a lot of punters buying beer. 
A lot of great live shows were played.
The M Squared idea was, that music does not have to conform with any sound or style. 
New styles were created, new directions were set.
1984 sadly things did not go exactly to plan. By mid year M Squared was over. 1 Wilshire Street was abandoned and the three friends drifted apart."

Houschyar investigated and selected his favorite 38 tunes, which appeared on M Squared Records between 1980 -1983.

The Attic: From The Archives: M Squared Stories

Welcoming in a dear friend and alchemical music maker Iggy aka Mister Water Wet for the first Motion Cast of 2020. Last year saw the release of his debut record “Bought The Farm” on West Mineral, an assortment of songs that felt reflective of someone who’s interest in sound is far reaching. Fingers crossed for another full length from him this year, until then I’m happy to share this mix of his which he’s described as a “love letter” and “almost like an early 2000’s movie or skate video soundtrack”.

Côté écoutilles, Lil'Ronin, c'est de la lenteur psychédélique à tous les étages, et si ça trébuche sur les styles, c'est toujours en slowmotion avec le temps de prendre la vague suivante. Q1. How and where was the mix recorded? Could you tell us about the idea behind the mix?
It was recorded in my studio in Berlin, picked the most interesting pieces I've heard recently, made a overlapping mix of different sounds and grooves to ultimately create a nice listening experience.
