We’re hopping on the laser grid and heading to Santa Cruz courtesy of Norway’s very own Karl Fraunhofer for the 12th Sprechen release!

The title track is the thing of a synth lovers wet dream…arps, classic drum machines, soaring pads and some killer lead lines are all here on this neon painted soundscape that sounds like the pairing of a lost Canon Video release and a level from Outrun!

Tone keeps the synth spirit going with a slightly slowed down affair that still throbs like an Italian studio in the mid 80’s. Jazz sounding melody stabs with some gritty chord work make this one perfect for driving your white lamborghini down to the shops to buy another pair of espidrilles.

Remix action is from an absolute legend of the true Ibizan party scene by way of Leo Mas who gets the house vibes painted all over Santa Cruz whilst still retaining an air of balearic-ness. Manchester’s very own Neil Diablo gets to work on Tone and gives it his trademark balearic disco makeover with dashing if Italo influence that is certain to do some damage over the Summer festival dance floors!

We present “Das Horn” from the artist duo Umami! The duo, Robert and Sam, first met in a little basement studio in a village not far from the coast of the Baltic Sea. At that time, they played in different bands. Robert was producer and keyboarder of a Depeche Mode influenced electronic live act and Sam was a singer-songwriter and guitarist in several jazz and rock bands. With their urge to write and compose techno songs that dedicate themselves to the repetitiveness and intensity of electronic dance music and still fly with the emotion of real composing, they have much to contribute to the vast electronic music scene with its thousands of creative and talented producers. This release includes three amazing party symphonies and a remix by the artist cooperation Krink & Schlepp Geist.

First released on their No Stoppin EP in 2003, M.A.N.D.Y.'s 'Tonite' now gets a fresh remaster for 2020 with huge new remixes from Rebolledo, Pete Tong, Maga, President Bongo, m.O.N.R.O.E. and dubspeeka.

Opening up the package in fantastic fashion is Rebolledo, the long time Kompakt artist and original Pachanga Boy. His Collector's Edition mix is a smooth and seductive one with lush synths and nimble grooves all working you into a trance. Radio 1's vital veteran and enduring global tastemaker Pete Tong then steps up with a rare remix that shows why he is such a widely respected icon. He goes for a more prickly version which is lit up with big chords and has plenty of kinetic drum energy and epic breakdowns. Next up, French producer Maga's musical project has turned into a real journey through melodic, organic and minimalistic patterns that cast a fine spell. His version is built on a bass guitar riff that loops beneath cleverly treated vocals and becomes magically psychedelic.

Iceland's President Bongo was a founder of the cult GusGus band who now works solo on the Radio Bongo label and has his own distinctive sound. Evidence of that comes here with a superbly spooky version that has vocal chants shimmering about the mix and races late into the night on an indie licked rhythm. Then it is to Miami's m.O.N.R.O.E., who has been a regular guest on this label over the years and mixed America Gets Physical back in 2018. His version is the deepest of the lot, with subtle claps, atmospheric samples, bird calls and humid grooves that lock you in. Bristol techno producer dubspeeka always brings the UK sound and sense of grimy soul to his music, and he does so again here with a hard hitting, dubbed out yet dreamy rework full of class. Last of all is a fresh remaster of the original version which sounds as crisp and brain soothingly clean as it did when first released.

This top tune is set to be a smash for a second time round thanks to these vital remixes.
