This is the second installment in Rendr’s Various Artists series, showcasing the different avenues of the Minimal & Deep tech genre.

For this release they aimed to push the Rendr sound with ten upbeat, groove-driven originals. Each with their own unique style. It features artists who are old friends and new to us from all over the world and we have welcomed them to the Rendr family to allow them to showcase their talent.

F.eht is an a highly respected DJ, who is an artist known for his clean cut house style. This track shows his exceptional talents in the studio with this solid club anthem which has received support from many well established DJ’s.

Mason Collective’s blossoming Whippin Records celebrates one year this March as the ever-impressing trio welcome a combination of close friends and rising talents to deliver the label's very first Various Artist release. 

With support from some of the biggest names in the game to date, Whippin has quickly become a go-to for many within the scene as the label founders deliver and curate their take on today's modern house landscape whilst keeping true to their unique sound. Featuring material from themselves, fellow label favourites Reme and Renko, plus emerging names including Solid Grooves regular Bassel Darwish, fabric resident Lindsey Mathews and more, this debut V/A package looks set to become a key release for many whilst celebrating the imprint’s anniversary in impressive fashion.

Premiere: REME X RENKO - Whispers [Whippin]

Tune in, turn on, ring the remix klaxon, we are LIVE… Robsoul bossman Phil Weeks has gone back in time and dusted off one of his most timeless pieces of work for a little contemporary refix magic from two giants in the game: Junior Sanchez and Darius Syrossian.

Clocking in at six years old but sounding forever timeless, ‘Live At Palladium’ takes the lead in remastered glory. Warm, jacking, soulful; it still pushes every button it did when Phil first released it. Elsewhere Junior Sanchez goes right back to the source with a classy jazzy twist that maintains all the Parisian chic of the original but builds on it with a full-on and funky New Jersey twist.

Finally Darius seals the deal with another refreshing perspective; broad, rolling and fully-focussed on the groove, as always with Syrossian, this is proper heads-down tackle. Pimped with classic house stabs and a series of killer build ups mid-way, it’s another reason to remain tuned in and turned on to everything Robsoul are putting out right now.

Delaj is a french artist born in south of France (Nice). He started to produce and mix with a collectif called « Les Diamantaires ». A lot of gigs were organized with big artists like Archie Hamilton, Thomas Melchior, Nastia, Doubting Thomas, Fabrizio Maurizi, Stimming an many more...
He came to Paris when he was 20 years old. It’s in the capital where he found inspiration on his music. 
He already has few releases on Sentaku Records, ReFace Records, Celo Records, Honne Music Records, Moob Records and good feedbacks and support from big artists like Barac, Archie Hamilton, Janeret, Ben Vedren, Christopher Ledger…
One month after his disappearance, in memory of this amazing artist, he made an edit of Bill Withers Ain’t no Sunshine !

Elléot is a UK based DJ & Producer who has firmly established himself as one of Manchester’s hottest up and coming artists. He is set to carve his way through the underground House and Techno scene with a solid year ahead. Elléot started his musical journey around 15 years ago when he invested in his first pair of turntables. He quickly became obsessed with deeper darker shades of electronic music. As his passion for the music grew Elléot started toying with the promotional side of his local underground scene, running a number ofsuccessful House and Techno nights in the North of England. Silk & Fuss debut on Solid Grooves Raw with their latest single, ‘Funky Freddy’.
Emerging duo Silk & Fuss are one of the latest rising acts from within the rich Dutch house scene to be gaining some serious momentum having featured for the likes of ANTS at Amsterdam’s renowned Kingsland Festival whilst running their radio show ‘Silk & Fuss’ Finest’, hosting a range of artists including Solid Grooves residents Bassel Darwish and Ramin Rezaie. Next up, the duo look set to welcome their biggest release to date as they debut on Solid Grooves’ sister imprint Solid Grooves Raw, offering up their latest single ‘Funky Freddy’ this September.
A groove-heavy cut fusing infectious sax riffs alongside rolling percussion and punchy kicks, ‘Funky Freddy’ sees the up-and-coming duo deliver a playful yet driving production via one of the scenes in-form imprints.

Premiere: Silk & Fuss - Funky Freddy [Solid Grooves Raw]

The ‘Funk Cartel’ is a duo consisting of brothers ‘Blame Rory’ and ‘Kimono Cam’ known for their rave ready flavours, bringing life and soul to the underground sound.

Closer than their relationship as brothers is their relationship with the dancefloor. Way beyond their years in production skills attributed to a close upbringing surrounded by good house music.

The brothers believe that House has an ability to bring people together like no other and that their purpose is to share this message. They have a clear understanding of what works for the crowds and this perfectly translates into their music and style. Their unique weave of deep rolling basslines, intricate keys, and clever energy fuelled percussion leaves a lasting impression on all who hear it and is a true breath of fresh air for the scene. Their sets are frequently stacked with their own distinctive productions and edits.

A relentless work ethic in the studio helps forge their sound which cannot be genre labelled as their music pushes forward in many directions. The formation of their own label THUNDR has not only showcased their own music but brought fresh talent to the forefront of the scene.

The pair has gained a loyal following and they have earned support from the world's top DJs. Earlier this year their first major release came through with a remix on ‘Elrow Music’. The brothers have also produced three House records with dance music legends Ultra Nate, Kathy Sledge & Kym Mazelle providing bespoke vocals.

2020 has been a difficult year for artists but the pair haven’t taken their foot off the gas. They formed part of London’s ’93Feet East’ series, joining selective line up’s with scene heavyweights - a testament to their ability in the booth.

Moving forward their work in the studio is paying off with a signing to Doorly’s ‘Reptile Dysfunction’ and a strong release schedule being planned. You will be hard pushed to find two people with more drive and focus, from clever marketing ploys to get their music to the people that needed to hear it - the now infamous USB wraps - to their presence and productions;  It is safe to say the pair have made a big impact in a very short space of time.

Next year will see a strong focus on solidifying an influential movement within the industry, as at its essence ‘Funk Cartel’ as the pair say “is not just Rory and Cam, but everyone that shares the same enjoyment for the music and its culture”.
