A bootleg/remix I made of one of my favorite songs from any movie trailer ever, 'Cells' by The Servant. It was in the trailer for Frank Miller's Sin City, based on the graphic novel. Amazing movie that you should check out if you haven't yet seen. The song just fits the film so well. Hopefully this mix does the original some justice.

Severance Theme (Lomaximus Remix)

I procrastinated on posting this because I've kind of been depressed ever since it ended.. this set was the first time I ever got to play a Lomaximus set at a major festival and it really was a dream come true.

I opened day 2 of Freaky Deaky's main stage, ahead of SuperAve, Levity, Level Up, Apashe, Peekaboo, Liquid Stranger and Subtronics. Insane!!

I finally got to bring out my longtime friend and collaborator, Au5, on stage for our multiple songs. He's brought me out on stage so many times during his sets so it was really wholesome to bring him out on one of mine, full-circle like.

One of my biggest fans, now turned amazing friends, even proposed to his now-fiancé during the set while Cinema played. It still blows my mind and makes me SO grateful he wanted to do that. Love you Adam and Haley! 

I also played tons of my new remixes and edits in the set, so please let me know what you think of them. Anyway, I really hope you all enjoy it as much as I did playing it. I'm so grateful for everyone's support and all the encouragement you've given me, which has gotten me this far. 

There's no way I could've done it without the love you guys have shown me, so THANK YOU 🖤

LOMAXIMUS - Freaky Deaky 2024 Set

when I first started producing music back in 2013, I had almost no idea what I was doing. I just followed what I liked, what gave me goosebumps, and what made my chest feel heavy or light. that was my compass, and honestly, even after 12 years, it still is.

in the early days, growth felt fast. going from knowing nothing to understanding even a little made it feel like I was leveling up quickly. but with time, the gains became slower, more subtle. you start to realize how far the people you look up to really are, and how deep the craft can go.

it’s been 11 years since I uploaded my very first remix of Lilium here on SoundCloud. a lot has changed in my life since then, but weirdly, a lot hasn’t. I still come back to the things I loved back then, and find myself loving them now.

more recently, I discovered that there are alternate versions of Lilium out there. arrangements by MOKA☆ (ie. Kayo Konishi and Yukio Kondo) that I hadn’t heard before. the moment I heard them, I knew I had to return to the song. not just because I still think it’s one of the most beautiful, haunting melodies ever written, but also because it’s part of my origin story in producing music too. revisiting it felt like a way to say thank you to not only the original, but also to my past self, and to this platform, where i got started.

my first remix found its way onto a bunch of other platforms over the years, and collectively it’s been listened to nearly half a million times. that blows my mind, but it's not what drove me to make this newer version. I loved every second of making that first remix. and I loved making this one even more. the self-fulfillment was more important and was worth every hour. 

production has been part of my life for over a third of it now, and playing music in general has been part of me for more than two-thirds. so in a way, this remix is a love letter to where I started, to how far I've come, and to how much more I still want to explore. I know it doesn't sound like anything that's popular right now in terms of the modern edm scene, but it doesn't matter to me. I love the song so much that I wanted to make a newer version I could listen to whenever I feel a certain way. 

so to anyone reading this, especially if you're just starting out, please know: music doesn’t need to be perfect, or popular, or sound like what everybody else is doing to matter. if it’s honest to how you're feeling, and you love making it, that’s enough.
